The rooms were spacious and clean. A big plus was size of property.

Loved that it was such an easy walk to the beach plenty of room inside and out. Loved the grill was pretty clean most places grill is horrible. Lots of steps to climb if the elevator is not working which it wasn’t on our stay. Big screened in back porch nice for kiddos to run around and you don’t have to chase knowing they are safe. Would recommend rental but would also check to see if tile floors are redone and elevator is working. Vacasa staff was great and courteous I know they can only pass on recommendations to the property owners. Thanks Vacasa staff for helping me on the day we were all packed and ready to leave my car battery died called Vacasa a very nice gentleman came out and jump started my car. Good place to visit with family with enough space. In general needs some updates but sufficient for a nice time close to the beach.

We had kids and grandkids and great place with porches and room. Short walk to beach access. Very quiet road. Fantastic week at Edisto.

Everything was great!

I will preface this review by saying that our family has been going to Edisto since the early 90s. We love the shabby beach vibe and do not expect a luxury experience. That said, there were some issues with this house that go beyond beach charm and cross into deferred maintenance and poor management. I'm giving four stars primarily for the fantastic location (2-3 minute to a great beach access) and super functional layout (beautiful screened porch, 2 bedrooms downstairs with a shared bathroom and HUGE shower, two upstairs, with two different indoor living/sitting areas). This layout really is ideal for a larger family or two smaller groups. However, There are some serious management and maintenance issues that need to be addressed, some of which pose safety hazards. There are cracked tiles and grout on the living room/dining room floor, that could potentially cut someone's foot if not fixed. The outdoor shower is SO nice to have, but there are multiple rusty nails/screws sticking out on the inside of the shower that could easily scratch someone if they weren't paying attention. There are also indoor stairs that are not pictured in the listing photos - we were traveling with my two year old and would have brought a baby gate if we knew. We contacted the Vacasa team upon arrival, who said they would discuss it in their staff meeting the next day and could likely bring us a gate, but then never followed up with us (we ended up going out to buy our own). The layout of the rooms is fantastic, and there is actually one more sofa bed than included in the listing (one upstairs, one downstairs), but the upstairs sofa bed was so worn and uncomfortable that even my four and nine year old nephews were unable to sleep on it (we did not try the downstairs one as it was too central to cooking/visiting for us to use). This really needs to be replaced if it's going to be listed as a sleeping space. The kitchen is one of the best-stocked that I've seen in a rental, which was really wonderful. However, the heat of burners on the stove was so inconsistent (either not hot enough or way too hot) that we ended up with multiple burnt meals. The stove exhaust vents right back into the kitchen instead of outdoors, so we set off the smoke alarm multiple times. The faucet on the kitchen sink is also loose and close to falling off. Overall, the fundamentals of this house are great and we loved our stay, but the management and maintenance issues are creating serious problems for an otherwise wonderful house. I hope they are addressed as we really loved the house otherwise!
