We were there for a ski week and the unit was as advertised. Well-appointed and a great location between Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. The furnishings, bedrooms, and bedding were comfortable and in great condition. There is ample sofa and dining table space and the living and dining rooms are a good size. Dishes and cookware were plentiful - we were able to cook full meals with ease. The hot tub was at temperature and easy to use and, with green space behind the unit, it has a much more open feeling than most other units in this complex. Major grocery store (Smith's) is less than 5 minutes away and several restaurants/brewpubs/distilleries are within 10 minutes. Definitely recommend this property!
What we liked: proximity to ski resorts/ski bus stops, convenient access to grocery stores, ease of check in, and location. What can be improved: listing accuracy, kitchen/pantry stocking, maintenance of kitchen drawer/cabinet door operations. Specifics on what can be improved: 1. Listing accuracy: the VRBO site for this property lists 4 bedrooms, with all bedrooms being either queen, king, or bunk beds. While most are accurate, the one bedroom in the basement is actually a double rather than a queen bed. While it may not be a deal breaker, it certainly would have given us pause during the selection process. 2. Kitchen/pantry stocking: while we don't expect the kitchen to be fully stocked of exotic spices, we do expect basics. Most were missing or needed to be replenished by us shortly upon arrival: salt and pepper, cooking oil, plastic wrap, foil, paper towels, dishwashing pods, and laundry detergent. 3. Maintenance of kitchen drawer operations: a few of the drawers/cabinet doors in the kitchen were difficult to close after opening; one member of our party ended up fixing one by simply tightening the screw on the hinge using a butter knife. Seems like an easy thing to check by the property manager; perhaps this could be added to the maintenance list on a regular basis. Several of the doors/drawers were just broken and fell out when we attempted to use them.
Location and space! This was a perfect get away for our family.
Following our arrival we identified some issues - trash that we had to handle left at the house, overflowing recycling bin in the garage, broken hot tub cover that was stuck over the tub. I get that stuff happens but it was the lack of action that was really frustrating for our stay. Aside from sending me a video of how to operate the hot tub no assistance was provided and no one came to solve the issues. Separately, the main entrance to the development was under construction but no mention was provided which arriving in the dark added a bunch of time to our arrival. Lots of friction. When I called in to the customer service line they were unhelpful and weren’t empathetic at all. I’m sure it would have been fine with no issues. But if something does happen like it did during our stay on your vacation, thia isn’t the house you want to be dealing with issues while staying at as you are going to be managing it solo and without assistance that’s helpful in any way.
Spacious. Great kitchen. Comfortable
Good location, nice place, reasonably priced. Had a hiccup with the hot tub cover that we couldn’t open and the water got turned off the morning we left but I suspect that was to more than just our unit because the street was dug up and crews were working.
