Clean house, convinent location, easy and clear communication. Would stay again.
We really enjoyed our family stay at Lakeland Village. The location is excellent, very convenient to the lake and within easy reach of the pool and other common areas. The atmosphere was quiet and calm, which made it perfect for a relaxing getaway. One small downside was that there are only two grills available near the common area, so during busy hours it can be a bit competitive to get a spot. Aside from that, the property felt well-kept and family-friendly, and we’d be happy to come back again.
We rented for 7 nights, but left after one. We arrived after 9pm and the condo was 80 degrees. We feel very misled that the unit would have AC. This should be noted in the main description of the property. I even texted the property manger prior to renting and asked about AC. After going back and looking at the response to my text, I was told to check the listing. Why not just say “no AC”? Part of the description says “thermostat”. Turns out the thermostat is just for heat. Even if there had been AC, the unit is really bad. The carpet is sticky and the unit smells like urine and mold. All the grout in the bathrooms is cracked and moldy. The curtains on the back patio door are black in places with mold. We weren’t there long enough to use anything. Since we arrived so late, we stayed until the next morning and left. Seriously the worst unit rental we’ve ever stayed at.
This was our third stay at a Vacasa rental in Lakeland Village. We love the property and highly recommend Lakeland Village to groups traveling with kids. Unfortunately, this was our least favorite unit. Pros: -View from the balcony -Proximity to the beach -Large dining table with ample seating -clean fridge & freezer -plenty of bath & beach towels -Accessible in unit washer & dryer -proximity to parking lot -clean bedding & sheets Cons: -stove/oven was turned off upon arrival, we had to flip the breaker -extremely uncomfortable mattresses, all of them. If someone turned in their sleep the other would bounce up… the downstairs king bed was more like sleeping on a box spring- so odd. Our other Vacasa rentals have had excellent mattresses. -We understood the decor might be a bit dated, but the sofas were not comfortable- seem to have completely lost structure in the seat and you kind of fall in. -The unit is VERY dark, even in the afternoon sun with all blinds open, lamps and lights on -All of the blinds had dust caked on them, the little portable fans in each bedroom were also caked with dust. -We found a blue press on nail in the sofa, ick! -Carpets were stained and definitely need a professional cleaning -Window in the loft does not have a screen so it can’t be opened for airflow. Notes: The weather was excellent during our stay in July - sunny and highs in the high 60s, low 70s, so temperatures were comfortable in the unit. However, I would strongly recommend packing a few extra fans if temps are higher during your stay. The second floor could definitely become very warm, and the loft unbearable- but this is true of all units without AC in Lakeland. Bears: yes, there are bears. Huge bears. We saw them at night around 9:30-10pm, a great show from our balcony watching them dig through neighbor’s trash. Follow the directions on the bear boxes. Bring a flashlight with you if you’re going to and from the beach or fire pits and night.
Love the view. And proximity to the beach. All furniture needs to be updated
