First I’d like to thank Avari, your company has been great! After making the reservation I called the property manager at Lakeland about handicapped parking. I spoke to Megan. She told me to call the day prior to arrival as she would set up our family with a third parking spot at her personal home that was next door to the property. I understand there’s only two slots per condo but with the handicapped, she wanted to make an exception. I found it odd but she assured me she had done this for many guests. She also said she would let me know about an early check in. Prior to arrival I called and left 3 VM’s with Megan and I never heard back. I finally called the front desk on the day of arrival and asked for Megan. They informed me she didn’t work for Lakeland Village as of 3 weeks ago. I talked to Megan just after this time. Very confusing, misinformed and actually caused a lot of problems for our family with a handicapped person in our family with parking and managing our vehicle. Aside from that, this condo needs attention! It needs some repairs, lighting, improved furniture and some deep cleaning. For the cost of this place, myself and my family members were not comfortable. Dinning chairs/bench: broken, falling apart Living room couch: extremely uncomfortable. There’s plywood under the cushions to make up for collapsed framing. Material is overused and dirty. Living room rug has turned up corners. A dangerous hazard and someone tripped and fell. Kitchen sink disposal was broken, caused sink to back up. Repairman was called in to fix it but an inconvenience. A dish dry rack would be helpful. Refrigerator freezes all food. The temp was turned down but everything frozen. We lost a lot of food and groceries in Tahoe are expensive. It’s outdated and should be replaced. Mattresses in rooms: very hard and caused back issues every night. Look under the beds, there’s a dust storm. The downstairs area is very dark, especially the bedrooms. Closet areas very dark. Ceiling lighting or installed lighting would help tremendously. The only thing that seemed to be clean were the sheets and towels. Floors, surfaces and furniture extremely dusty and dirty. Shelving and fixtures on walls are falling off. Shelving in bathrooms, falling off. The bedrooms and bathroom doors are very loud, they stick so much you have to push and pull to get them opened and closed. The doors do not fit in the framing and make lots of noise. Someone going to the bathroom at night wakes up everyone. Overall the pictures on the website did not match up with how we experienced this condo. I have stayed at Lakeland several times and have experienced lovely clean homes and this was an absolute disappointment! The owners need to give this place a makeover with lots of repair and replace furniture. I will definitely be taking this condo off my list of places to stay.
This was a great place to stay!
The layout is very strange (no bathrooms on 2nd and 3rd floors), but I knew that going in because I used the virtual tour. This place is DIYed to the max. My dad is a general contractor and we all got a kick out of the lack of craftsmanship. We called the ground floor "The Cave." It is super dark and has no overhead lighting. Some of the lighting they installed is that blueish light and the bathroom light in the bathtub/toilet combo takes 3-4 seconds to turn on. The Cave gets no natural sunlight throughout the day. A window in the loft (3rd story) completely fell onto the pillow on the bed in front of it. Good thing we weren't using the loft. We could not find a cutting board in the kitchen which seems basic. The couch constantly moves around because there is no way to hook the parts together. It is uncomfortable. They even put a piece of plywood underneath the cushions to bridge the gap. It isn't worth the nightly rate, but you have beach access (covered in Geese poop) which is hard to get in Tahoe. If you stay at a nice resort you will spend $1200 on up a night per room. So....would I stay here again? Maybe, but I would call the front desk and ask for a personal recommendation of a better unit.
The unit was sufficient, well stocked and the beds were comfortable. It is a good location within the complex and a convenient walk to town. The unit looked straightened up, not necessarily clean, and several light bulbs were burned out. We ended up switching and replacing some, but the place is still very dimly lit. Two public grills for the entire complex is no where near enough. All in all, you are mainly paying for the complex location.
Proximity to the beach, restaurants and area activities was ideal.
The way the bedrooms and bathrooms are set up with this home do not work. Upstairs in the kitchen and living area has no bathroom. You have to go downstairs where the bedrooms are to use a bathroom. The home could use some updating too. The unit said there were beach chairs where we could not find any so had to buy some. We would not be back for this unit.
