Rating
This house is really well kitted out, lots of seating, toys, ample bathrooms and great kitchen, lots of parking. There are quite a few stairs so if you have really little ones, bring your own baby gate. Good value for a larger family or group of friends
Excellent house near Serene Lakes! Our family had a great time. My only complaint is that the gas grill had no gas (we had to fill it in Truckee for $26) and the front porch still had the boards up from winter, so we couldn't use it. The deck where the grill is is very small, and so is the deck that was boarded up. We had a wonderful time despite this. The beds were passable -- the master mattress needs to be replaced at some point soon. The bunk beds can support a child, but not an adult. Overall, we would stay here again!
The space is very well laid out so that people can interact but also have some privacy. Kitchen had everything to cook entire meals for large groups and pots were good quality. Toiletries and linens were good quality. King size bed is VERY soft, the rest are better. It's about a mile to the beach. We were told there were kayaks but could never find out how to access.
An evening around the fire pit.
Big house nice location
I own a small cabin in Serene Lakes. I rented this home for a weekend for my 3 adult children and their spouses, plus 3 grandchildren. House was very spacious for 3 families and plenty of seating in kitchen/dining area for large family meals. Three full bathrooms plus two half bathrooms made it a “no wait” for anyone needing a bathroom. Everyone said they would definitely want to stay at The Mountain House again.
