Rating
After paying a lot of money to stay at this home, we were disappointed with a few things. When you walk upstairs the kitchen smells like rotten fish and the dishwasher reeked of fish. After using the dishwasher it still reeked. The overall home was clean but the kitchen and dishwasher had a horrible rotten smell. The gas fireplace didn't work and the jacuzzi tub. A local repair man came out and he was able to fix the jacuzzi but he couldn't fix the fireplace. This made it very difficult to dry out our snow boots or to enjoy a nice fire. The worst thing though was the fact that we didn't have access to "guest amenities" that we were promised. When we arrived to go swimming with the pass, the woman at the counter said our pass was expired and the hoa didn't except those anymore. She said the owners had knowledge of this since October. The lack of care in that regard was very unprofessional. Only members or guests are allowed to use the rec area and that's why we paid good money to rent this place with the promise to use them. Also, since the guest passes were expired we were forced to pay almost double for snow play. It was a very unsatisfactory experience and I hope the owner will rectify this.
The location is convenient and the common areas were great to have to hit a family Christmas. However, it went downhill from here. The cabin was not clean and is missing many basic items that other rentals would have. We found several bugs in our bedding making it questionable whether other items were clean in the cabin. The carpet also seemed dirty and we felt we needed to wear socks or house slippers around the house. We also had to clean the surface of a dining table cause they had films of dirt. The kitchen was missing cooking utensils that you’d normally have with rentals leaving us having to borrow from friends at a nearby cabin.
The place is beautiful and super comfortable. We will definitely stay here again! Thanks!
Well equipped, clean and spacious
This was our first time in Truckee and we had an amazing experience. The location was amazing. 3 minute walk to the local market, just 2 minutes from the snow play area for sledding and tubing. 15 minutes to downtown and 15 minutes to Boreal for skiing. We had fun playing in the snow right outside of the unit. Inside was clean and comfortable. Our 5 year old grandson described it as “fancy.” Plenty of space for our group of 5 and loved having 3 restrooms. The fooseball table was great entertainment. We appreciated having a garage after a snowy night. Loved the big windows in the living room to watch the snow fall while cooking meals in the well stocked kitchen. Can’t recommend enough.
