Very nice house with beautiful views! Some stairs to arrived to the unit, but okay.
I would give 3.5 if possible for two main reasons: cleanliness and communication. Otherwise the stay was wonderful. Positives is the location and view which is absolutely stunning. Loved drinking my morning coffee while looking out the window onto Lake Tahoe. It’s also very close to most attractions and very convenient. The issue was an overall lack of enough effort. Although not disgusting by any means the side tables were all quite dusty, one of the comforters had white crusty stains on top that were very easy to see, the jets in the tub had a pink stain to them (we didn’t use the tub because of this), and there were empty bags of chips and water bottles under the couch. Thankfully there were extra blankets in the closet that looked clean and overall remainder of the house and sheets seemed clean. Communication was also not prompt, it took 1-2 days to hear back to any message I sent. We had the fire alarm go off and we couldn’t turn it off. I was on hold for >10 minutes and messaged but couldn’t get in touch with anyone and eventually the fire department showed up and turned it off. It’s quite unfortunate because really with just a little bit more effort this would absolutely be a 5 star stay.
Unfortunately, this property was not accurately disclosed and did not meet basic safety or comfort expectations, especially for families with children or elderly guests. The listing does not clearly explain that the home is located several floors down with multiple flights of stairs and no alternative access. This was a major issue for us, as we were traveling with an 80-year-old adult. The access was extremely difficult and unsafe, and our grandfather had multiple problems going up and down the stairs and even fell during our stay. We do not recommend this property for elderly guests or children. In addition, the property was not clean upon arrival. The kitchen sink had a strong, unpleasant odor, similar to old fish or poor drainage, indicating it had not been properly cleaned. The beds were very uncomfortable, and the pillows were extremely low quality, offering no real support or comfort. The home is very dark due to its location at the bottom level, with almost no natural sunlight. The interior lighting system is outdated and insufficient, making the house poorly lit overall. This lack of lighting made the stay even more challenging and unsafe with an elderly person. The washer and dryer are very old and did not function properly. They were extremely noisy and inefficient, clearly in need of replacement or proper maintenance. Overall, this property requires significant investment and updates to justify the price. The amount we paid does not reflect the quality, safety, or comfort we received. For this price point, there are much better and safer options available. We attempted to resolve these issues through Vrbo during our stay, but no relocation or alternative options were offered. For these reasons, we do not recommend this property.
We loved the layout of the condo - great kitchen, dining living on entry level with a cozy fireplace and stunning gorgeous mountain and lake views. This was a great set up for everyone to relax with the bedrooms below . The location to the store and most importantly to Mt Rose was outstanding; couldn’t have been better! In the winter this home was able to keep us all warm and cozy- no worries about being uncomfortable there! Only negative is the washer /dryer.
No issues. It was good experience. The only challenge was small parking lot which was too difficult for my SUV. It could be even difficult for a sedan.
Very good!
