Overview
Aspen Grove Hideaway
Compact but character-packed, this Northstar vacation rental is a charming studio getaway! You'll be out and enjoying the slopes at Northstar California Resort with ease! Located just to the southeast of downtown Truckee, Northstar offers year-round attractions with premier skiing and snowboarding in the winter, as well as hiking, biking, golf, and a scenic gondola during the summer months. Right at this Aspen Grove Hideaway, you'll have access to Northstar community amenities like tennis courts, a shared pool, hot tub, and a sauna! And if you want to head down to crystal blue Lake Tahoe, it's under 10 miles to the beaches at Tahoe Vista, with Kings Beach just a few minutes beyond. Your stay at this Northstar vacation condo includes everything you'll need to enjoy your Truckee getaway. There's WiFi, a flatscreen TV, cable, a DVD player, and even a gas fireplace. Come back from a day swooshing through fresh powder and enjoy mugs of hot cocoa in front of the fire. Even if the snow is falling down outside, you'll be quite cozy here. There's a well-stocked full kitchen if you want to make meals in (all appliances are included - even a dishwasher!), and when it's time to sit down to dinner, there's a dining table with seats for everyone. It may have a small footprint, but this Northstar retreat is perfectly designed and laid out! Out on the deck, you'll have a pretty tree-lined view and comfortable outdoor seating. You'll be a short walk (or a free shuttle ride) from the center of Northstar Resort - the ski lifts, as well as the Village at Northstar for restaurants, a movie theater, bars and late-night entertainment, and even unique shops are easily reachable. There are communal outdoor fire pits at the resort for a cozy late-night, but of course, you could always just head back to your hideaway for some snuggle-time in front of the fireplace. When it's not ski season, there are still plenty of things to do in Truckee! Take a scenic gondola ride in the summer, play some golf, hike one of Tahoe's scenic trails. If you feel like a drive, you can be at the lake shore in about 15 minutes for an afternoon down on the sand. Finish up your day with lunch in Kings Beach or cross the Nevada state line for some time at one of Crystal Bay's popular casinos. Enjoy access to the Northstar recreation center amenities, which include tennis courts, basketball courts, a fitness center, a sauna, a hot tub, a seasonal lap pool, and an open grill area next to a beautiful creek surrounded by pine, fir, and aspen trees. (Site rentals include the use of three picnic tables and up to two gas BBQ grills with grilling utensils.) There is a $10 daily fee per person for use of the facilities. THINGS TO KNOW

Great Place!
This small unit had everything we need. Easy walk through the woods to Northstar gondola and village. Full kitchen, which is great in a studio. Tub for taking hot bath for skiing aches and pains. We look forward to returning next year!
location is good and pretty walk-able (about 15 min door-to-door from home to lift) through a 3-flight staircase, short walk through woods area and through the parking lot. May not be ideal for family w/ smaller children/toddlers if they are looking for ski-in ski-out option, as this is do-able for I would say 8-year-old and above. Studio itself is small/cozy, good for if you are spending most of the time outdoor doing skiing and activities. Again, location, location, location, and that's why this is a good property to look for.
I loved the location for skiing, though we had to traverse through the snow (no cleared path) to get to Northstar's preferred parking lot for skiiers. I wish the owners would correct the listing because previous people mentioned that the studio contains a double bed and a queen pull-out sofa. Make note that the queen size pull-out is on the older side and two people on it inevitably roll to the middle of it due to the older sagging springs. I wish the owners would invest in more dishware, since the place has a large fridge and a full size stove, but only a few plates and a lot more bowls which made for mismatched table settings in a single day for my 3-person family. Walls are worn but kept us from hearing all but the neighbor's morning shower.
We had a great time. The facilities within the room had us feel at home. Thanks!
This studio is located on the second (middle) floor of the complex. There are no elevators so you will need to carry your things up to the condo. Studio is brightly lit and clean. Located 5-10 min walk away from the Village. Although you cannot ski to the Village (it is slightly uphill from the condo), you CAN ski back to the condo from the Village at the end of the day. We stayed here as a family of 4, and it's do-able, but cozy. Would probably be ideal for a couple. We used the sofa bed and it was more comfortable than expected. The queen bed is very comfortable. Looks like the kitchen was updated fairly recently. We wanted there to be more plates/bowls but you can manage this by washing dishes more frequently. We needed extra pillow cases and were able to send a text request and received a prompt reply. We then received the requested pillow cases next day as promised. This was a good spot and a clean condo, but I didn't look close enough when booking to realize that this was a studio condo - it was tighter quarters than we were expecting initially but it ended up working just fine for us.
