There is something seriously wrong with the heating system in this condo. I read this in other reviews and booked it anyway. This was a mistake. Vacasa rebuts reviews with complaints about the heating system saying it is functional. Well, no one has claimed it doesn't work, It works, in the sense that the condo is warm, but the vent noise in the bedrooms is on average 75 decibels. I measured it with a phone app multiple times during my stay and took screenshots. 75 decibels is equivalent to an alarm clock, a vacuum, or a whistling tea kettle. Imagine any of those sounds blaring while you're trying to sleep and you will understand what staying in this condo is like. I was awakened Every. Single. Time the heater turned on, all night long. After the first night, I turned the thermostat below 60 degrees at night and piled every blanket I could find in the condo on the beds, hoping to have my sleep interrupted slightly less. The heating system is not noisy upstairs, only in the bedrooms. The noise starts up about 30 seconds after the furnace gets going, giving you just enough time to think that maybe, just maybe, it won't be so loud this time. But it always is. I have traveled around the world and I have never encountered a heating system this noisy. The condo itself is older but well maintained and comfortably furnished. The kitchen is tidy, organized, and well stocked. I couldn't get half the sliding glass shower door to move at all so had to climb over the toilet to get into the shower. If they would fix the insanely noisy heater this would be a nice place to stay. No doubt Vacasa will chime in below saying it's not noisy. Too bad they don't have the same enthusiasm to fix the problem instead of pretending there isn't one.
Great location, very convenient. Checks all the boxes for a family of 4. However, the furnace was VERY loud -- woke everyone up every few hours. Sounds more like a freight train than a normal heating unit for a condo. We also had some confusion one parking pass requirement. Turns out one wasn't needed, but it took a bit of back and forth with guest services to figure this out. Please update the check-in instructions to avoid confusing future guests.
We had a great time staying 8n Northstar and would gladly stay again. Condo is clean, comfortable and close to Northstar. The condo could use an update, but otherwise it was great.
Saw a mouse run under the sofa and then down the stairs the first morning when I got up after checking in the previous evening. Called Vacasa immediately and was told they would send someone out. Didnt hear back for a couple of hours and I texted them next, was told a ticket was issued and they review requests by the end of the day. We were only staying there for 2 nights and have a 6mo old baby that we did not feel comfortable having stay in the property. Never heard back about anyone coming by or relocating us. I took videos of the mouse droppings behind the sofa. Doesn't seem like vacasa is concerned about issues like a rodent problem at all. I would highly recommend you stay elsewhere and use a different more responsive company like AirBNB
Home is clean and well stocked....bonus points, they're the last pick-up and first drop-off on the Northstar shuttle!
