We stayed at this vacation home near Northstar and unfortunately had a pretty rough experience. The instructions gave us a code for a smart lock, but when we arrived, there was no smart lock—just a master key we didn’t have the code for. We ended up waiting outside in the cold with our kids, calling multiple numbers for almost 45 minutes before anyone got back to us. Once inside, the house itself had a beautiful location, but there were a lot of issues: dirty diapers left in a nightstand, dust everywhere, very limited hot water, and a broken doorknob. Overall, while the area is lovely, the stay was disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless they fix these issues and provide accurate entry instructions.
Big disappointment for several reasons. 1) heater didn’t come on. 2) uncomfortable sofa and chairs in living and dining room. 3) All 3 beds overly firm and very hard to sleep on. 4) fireplace has a raised area in front of it which one can easily trip on when trying to access rear patio 5) shower head in downstairs bathroom spits out very high pressure stream and can’t be adjusted. 6) inadequate interior lighting in living and dining room areas
Nice little condo and all was great until we found a bat in the living room after coming back from dinner around 930p on Sunday night. We never left any doors or windows open as the sliding screens and the window screens were all closed. I have no idea when the bat got into the home so I am thinking it was already here since Friday when we arrived. That would be almost 3 full days that the bat might have been in the home with us. Aside from that the condo is fine and great location as it's only 15 minutes from Kings Beach and 15 minutes from Truckee as well. Unfortunately the guest that was staying in the living room did not want to continue staying in the condo so I had to check out 1 day early. I was promised a refund for the last night from Alicia who is supposedly the property manager for Vacasa but I have yet to receive the refund. One more thing the Internet kept going in and out.
A Tranquil Escape with Minor Quirks This vacation condo is a really nice spot. It's in a great location in a quiet neighborhood and has a beautiful view, which is perfect for just chilling out. Inside, the charming furniture and decor make it feel super cozy, and there's lots of space to stretch out. Plus, having a washer and dryer is a huge bonus, and the whole place was clean. The only real drawbacks were the dated fixtures and the hot water running out if a few people showered back-to-back. But honestly, those are minor things when you consider how nice and peaceful this place is.
Great view
The hot water was inconsistent. It was there in the morning and not enough hot water ten hours later when we came back.
