Staying at timber Creek, The original lodging for Northstar when built in 1973 is extremely convenient as you can walk to everything and don't need a shuttle. However this unit appears to not have been upgraded since 1973. The internet was amazing, but that was about it. Just about everything in the room is trashed. The carpet is badly torn and they've thrown an area rug over it that looks like it was made in the '70s with freight edges and rolled up corners easy to trip over. There are disgusting dark fungus spots over the shower on the ceiling which is consistent with other reviews here so it's been pointed out many times and no one is addressing. The fart fan over the commode screams and whines with broken bearings loud enough to wake up everyone in the rooms on both sides and above. The extremely small microwave door jambs and will not open unless you figure out the secret combination of buttons to press which is not obvious to finally open the door. There is a broken hot water dispenser at the kitchenette sink, The two lamp shades in the room are broken and damaged, The beds are extremely lumpy and the bedding is a mishmash of random blankets that was thrown together and wrapped in sheets which were surprisingly clean on our arrival. So that was nice. The closet is packed with the homeowner's personal property and vacuums etc leaving little to no room for any of your gear. The TV setup is funky is all get out with multiple remotes and unclear how exactly to operate but the good news is there is a VHS and DVD player so if you're bringing VHS tapes and DVD tapes with you you can watch something. Lol If you're just there for the skiing and don't intend to spend any time in the room it is a wonderful location, but if you're forced to stay in the room because of the big storm it's not comfortable. I would estimate about $2,000 worth of upgrades could make this room awesome but it doesn't appear anyone has spent money on it since the early '70s.
The location is great but the room is dated. WiFi not working. Digital Lock doesn’t really work. There’s no coffee in the unit so we need to buy coffee beans on our own. If the room can be refreshed like new carpet, curtains, and with a working WiFi, that’s prob better.
The location cannot be beat. The actual accommodations have not been updated since the place was built, probably in the 1960s. For convenience, I give it 5 stars, but be prepared to have very little comforts.
Close to Northstar skiing. Need to bring your own coffee and coffee filters.
The village was beautiful with the surrounding mountains. However, it would have been nice to know that the village itself was closed down. All but two pizza restaurants and a coffee shop was opened.
The location is amazing! The room itself could use some upgrades but overall for a short stay 2-3 nights it’s convenient.
