As noted, and we were well informed there are many steps up to the house and house itself is three stories. Restrooms on main level and third level. Everything was quiet, clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our time in this home.
The house is priced right for what it is - a fine place with a good location to crash in if you’re having an active trip to Tahoe. Some aspects are a bit dated - but plenty of good cooking supplies and it was clean, and had a great location. Bummer we couldn’t use the grill - and the pool/hot tub costs $10/per person. Just know before ya go.
We had a really nice time staying here. I loved the cabin/woodsy vibe of the decor, so much character and way nicer furnishings than a lot of Ikea-based vacation rentals. I know some other reviews mentioned it was dated but for us that added to the charm and overall cabin-y vibe. This would be a great place for someone/a group wanting to do cooking at home as the kitchen is loaded w basically anything (knives/pots/pans/cooking utentils/bowls/grater/ you name it) you would need for most meals. The rec center with the access to the gym and pool was a 15 min walk or so because the northstar shuttles weren't running the month we were there, but it was a fairly easy walk and worth it.
The convenience of this unit inside of Northstar with access to the shuttle was what we were looking for. The unit is dated but offered enough space and basics for our group. The fireplace and BBQ are off limits to guests, there is no hairdryer in the unit. One note about location, it is at the very top of the collection of units so when there is a lot of snow it might take a bit of time to carefully run everything up and down to the car!
Lots of room with the 4 bunks plus 2 bedrooms, quite a ways from parking lot with a bunch of stairs, but a nice end unit.
While there were a good number of stairs to get to the condo, it was an end unit giving you quiet and privacy. There was plenty of room for our family & friend ski trip, with the adults staying in the rooms with the queen beds, while the kids enjoyed the bunk room. It's a little dated, but that gave it the feel of a rustic cabin retreat. The biggest benefit is how easy it is to get to the ski lifts, with the Northstar shuttle stop right in the parking lot (like 50 feet away). This amenity made transiting to the ski hill a bit easier, especially with kids. It was great not having to worry about driving, traffic, drop off, parking, and then shuttling.
