When we arrived, the house was set to 55° so we turned on the heating. Very shortly there after in the small bedroom downstairs the carbon monoxide alarm went off. This was very concerning. The alarm eventually turned off and didn’t turn on again however we slept very uneasy, knowing there might be something wrong with the heating. Other than that it was a really nice place and we loved the mattress on the king bed. I was nice and quiet. Parking was great and the distance to the steps was perfect.
This home is very nicely organized. It has everything you could need to be comfortable, from the kitchen to the laundry room and it has a Rec Center that also has a lot to offer. The owners also provide beach chairs and umbrellas. The furniture in living area was very comfortable unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy it. You see in the summer, this cabin is warm even at night. If you are traveling and forecast predicts warm weather, you should know that there is not much ventilation in this cabin so if its 83 degrees outside, it will be 85 or more upstairs and it will remain 85 well past 11pm. This unit also doesn’t provide reasonable access to tenants with disabilities, lots of stairs to and within. Unit could have used a little more cleaning. Half the dishes had to be washed before use. Dust in many areas. Hair from prior renters in the shower was disgusting. The king bed is firm. The twins are perfectly set up for two guests. Rec center is $10 per person per day. There is a shuttle that takes you to Kings Beach which is very convenient and access to rental for paddle boards or kayaks is right off the beach. I wish we would have known that AC was a necessary amenity even if you are surrounded by trees at a higher elevation, our stay was miserable due to the heat.
We had a wonderful stay at this home in Northstar! The spot looks like it have been renovated recently, has comfortable beds, and a great open living / dining room one the top floor. The kitchen is stocked with everything you might need to cook as well. It is a short walk to the rec center and hiking trails. There are buses that can be taken from the rec to King's Beach and Truckee is only 10-15 minutes away as well. We came in the summer but it is probably even better in the winter if you like to ski/snowboard. Hopefully we can come back soon!
This condo was great for our family of 4. Comfortable, and well equipped kitchen. We did spend the better part of an hour when we arrived trying to figure out parking because there are signs and we received an email that a parking pass is required. Looked through the whole condo and could not find a pass and needed to wait on hold while contacting the rental company, all while keeping an eye on our vehicle, only to finally hear that there actually are no parking passes .
Close to the village. All the amenities you need.
Great for our family of 4. The place felt brand new and had everything we could have asked for. A big stack of wood on the porch for a lovely fires in the evenings, ski lockers right outside door, comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. Will definitely return!
