Dollar Point

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was properly outfitted with all the cooking utensils, pans/pots, etc. for the family to eat at home and avoid the blistering cold outside. We really enjoyed our time here. The deck was amazing and a great place to take in the breathtaking views, especially in the AM with a nice cup of hot coffee. The open area upstairs was nice for the kiddos to hang out and watch tv.

The house has a great slice of Lake Tahoe view framed by lovely woods. The deck is really nice hang out place. Beds were very comfortable and the neighborhood is beautiful and very quiet. Interior space was airy and has great furnishing. Only problems were the giant tv blocking the view, a stained carpet, a broken bar stool and the light switches are very difficult to use. There is no beach access that you can walk to but Tahoe City is a five minute drive and Carnelian bay is even closer.

The view was a hit and everything else was a major miss in this home. It is in need of some serious attention on deferred maintenance. Missing cabinet door in kitchen, missing toilet seat, many light switches that didn’t work, stained carpets, black mold in the shower, cobwebs everywhere, etc. There is a great fireplace in the main room, but we were surprised to discover it is off limits for guests. The home did not have the feel of a rental, more like if you had just walked into your parents house as they were out on a walk. Several personal items were left out in random locations. The TV system is wildly confusing to try and operate with 5 different remotes. Trying to work with Vacasa is equally as confusing as the media system. They are quick to reply and acknowledge you attempting to address a concern, but never seem to have to ability to resolve anything. Often messages are sent from multiple platforms; text, email even a required app that you are to download to receive certain information about your booking. Dollar Point is a great neighborhood, but we’d suggest booking elsewhere for the many reasons above.

The house was the perfect size for us in a great location with an amazing view of the lake. There were some minor issues with some broken furniture but nothing that got in the way of us enjoying our stay. Overall it is a great rental for a family stay.

First time we’ve booked for two nights and we’re scared we had gotten scammed due to the amount we payed but the complete opposite we got there and after the second day we decided to add another night. Super clean, had everything you’d have at home ( as in plates ect. ) We had a beautiful view out on the porch so we slept in the living room to wake up with the view. Overall Definitely recommend booking!!! especially if you have kids mine loved the stairs and the bunkbeds .
