Unit 18B at Granlibakken

I first found another inn in Tahoe City, which was more expensive and not as complete as this room, good thing I found this room after which was cheaper and has more amenities: fast wifi, big screen tv with netflix, small fridge, with toaster, fan, with lots of towels and toiletries. Even has a keycard that you can use to access Granlibakken Lodge’s swimming pool, sauna, gym and meditation room. Me and my wife enjoyed our stay and will plan to come back next time, highly recommended, only thing was missing was AC, but Tahoe City gets cold at night so not that much an issue. Highly recommended!

The room was not well cleaned - the drawers had old food, food scraps, dried cheese and noodles in it, the floor had bits of food in it and not vacuumed. Iron didn't work (which was replaced quickly though). Wifi didn't work -network name provided did not exist and I was told to use the general granlibakken wifi. I asked pre and post stay so many times For a receipt but staff are not willing to provide this and fob me off to booking.com who said I have to contact the property. I gave up. The room is well equipped with a kettle, microwave, fridge, toaster oven and heater. There is NO fan or air conditioning - so is hot if you are there in summer. I'd book through granlibakken itself rather than this particular property as the staff at granlibakken are more helpful and I'm sure the rooms are cleaner and less grotty.

Bed was comfortable, location was ideal.

Great little apartment in the forest was access to lodge amenities!

The bed is two twin beds put together which was not comfortable for my partner and I as there was a gap in between. The pillows were not great either. I would highly recommend a brand new bed with better pillows & bedding (was not the same in the picture). Our first night was sleepless due to lack of comfort. Also because of the carpet, my partners allergies were so bad - he had to use his inhaler several times and take an allergy pill. Please consider a deep clean of the carpet. Thanks for providing hair care supplies and body wash in the shower. The location was super convenient and it was beautiful outdoors & quiet which is what we loved. The beach towels were a nice added convenience as wells. The fridge spacey & great too. The WiFi was spotty and went out 3 times on us while trying to watch Netflix. There was absolutely no cellular network without the wifi (iPhones)- so heads up to future bookings that your phones will say SOS. Although we didn’t use the coffee machine or toaster oven, it was nice to see extra kitchen supplies in the drawers.

The rental is ok if you just need a place to rest after a long day of hiking.
