This is a great place to stay and I always love renting here. I don't need super fancy, just a nice place to stay for a month that is walkable and quiet. Thanks to the owner for a fantastic rental.
The sheets, bathrooms and kitchen were all quite clean, but furniture had trash and dust underneath and there was even someone’s trash tucked between the couch cushions. I wasn’t going out of my way to check, but had to move a bedside table to make room for a pack n play and underneath was dusty with old tissues we had to remove. Looked under the bed for an eye mask we dropped and found more trash from previous visitors. The carpet and armchair are quite stained, which honestly didn’t bother me because the house is dog and child-friendly so I know deep cleaning for messes like that may be hard to keep up with. I appreciated being able to bring our dog. The couch does have a pull out bed, but the canvas that supports the mattress is only attached by two springs at the foot of the bed. The rest are missing. One would need to be very careful climbing into bed. The mattress was as (un)comfortable as you might imagine for a pull out. The twin bunk beds were made with two flat sheets instead of a flat and a fitted, and there were no other fitted sheets to attempt to replace them. Of course if one tried to sleep in those beds the sheets would come off as soon as you moved. The manager kindly delivered some to us. The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware, dishes, cutlery, even baking items. Cooking and preparing food was not hard at all here. I did see a pack n play in the closet but didn’t look closely at it as we brought our own. There were plenty of towels and toilet paper. The bathrooms each had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There were dishwasher tablets and (strongly scented) laundry detergent pods. We were here in the summer but there was firewood and some children’s sized saucer type sleds on the balcony. The queen and double beds were soft and comfortable. Very nice to have two full bathrooms available. The location is wonderful. This was by far the biggest factor for us. Right near hiking trails, very quiet unless a band is playing at the Palisades which is just a couple times per week, and a quick drive into Tahoe city and many other beautiful areas. The location is what really made us enjoy our stay. Plan to bring your own coffee and maybe some groceries or plan to stop by a store on your way in. The market nearby at Palisades is limited and pricey. Also if you’re sensitive to scents and plan to do laundry, bring your own detergent. Luckily for us the sheets and towels seem to have been washed elsewhere with unscented detergent. Overall we had a great time, just wished the cleaning had been a bit more thorough, especially traveling with a toddler who is happy to pick up anything he can find.
TL;DR: Loved it, would recommend. Full review on an edible: I was here for work for TrailCon and Western States and it's so close to all the activities happening but just a bit off to the side so it's a 2-min walk to get to the village, but then you can go back to the lodge and enjoy a nice place with rooms that have windows facing the nice river/creek sounds - very peaceful. I had some trouble with the wifi - it went out after the first night - but most modern phones have a hotspot and I think it's prob okay for most people. Hopefully it was just a fluke, and in any case, I was able to do all my work and enjoy my stay. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat.
We really enjoyed this place. It has everything you need and it’s located very close to the village and near beautiful trails. We would definitely stay here again.
The location to the village was great. We hiked each morning and came back during the hot midday then walked a couple of miles in the evenings. The condo was in a good location. It was clean except the carpet was very stained. Because the living room was dark we kept the lights on. The sheets and towels were nice and white and the kitchen and bathrooms were clean. There was a nice coffee maker but no coffee to go with it. Glasses and cereal bowls would be a nice addition. The electricity went out in the neighborhood and the condo had candles, no matches were available and the long big lighter was difficult to use.
Great place; fantatic location.
