Overall, I was not fully satisfied with this stay. Several household items and appliances were broken or in poor condition, including the kitchen trash can, the chest that holds the board games, and the tap in the second-floor bathroom. Each issue may seem small, but together they created ongoing inconvenience. The internet was also unreliable. The Wi-Fi router would periodically turn red and stop working, and I had to restart the modem to restore connection. This happened three times within the 4–5 hours we were awake in the cabin. Cleanliness was only average. We found hair under the blankets in both downstairs bedrooms, which was unpleasant. When these issues were raised, no refund or reconciliation was attempted by customer service. Overall, the property would benefit from better maintenance, cleaning, and guest support.
Clean, cozy and located in a quiet area. WiFi sucks but good excuse to unplug 🤷🏻♂️.
Convenient location, basic and a bit dated, but well cared for
Dangerous Safety Hazards & Poor Response - Unacceptable for Families As a parent, I'm writing this review to warn other families about serious safety issues we encountered and Vacasa's failure to address them. What We Expected vs. What We Got: The booking process was smooth, the price was fair, and we arrived excited for our stay. That excitement quickly turned to concern and frustration when we discovered multiple dangerous hazards in the bathroom. The Safety Issues: The carpet transition strip between the bathroom carpet and tile flooring was half detached—not secured to the floor at all. This became an immediate tripping hazard. Multiple family members tripped on this sharp metal edge, resulting in cuts and injuries. Far more alarming was the inner door molding of the bathroom. It was completely ripped away from the wall, starting at floor level and extending roughly 3 feet up (right below the doorknob). This exposed jagged, splintered wood and multiple nails protruding directly from the wall. These nails were at eye level for my 3-year-old toddler. The exposed nails also caught and tore our clothing. Vacasa's Unacceptable Response: I contacted Vacasa immediately upon discovering these hazards. My child's safety was at risk from exposed nails at eye level—this wasn't a minor inconvenience, it was a dangerous situation that needed urgent attention. Their response? They asked me to send pictures of our injuries. That's it. No one was sent to repair the hazards. No attempt was made to relocate us. No follow-up to ensure our safety. Nothing to make this right during our stay. My Disappointment: I understand that properties can have wear and tear, but exposed nails at a toddler's eye level is not acceptable. What's even more unacceptable is a property management company that, when notified of a clear safety hazard involving a young child, does nothing to fix it or make it right. As a parent, I trusted Vacasa to provide a safe environment for my family. They failed to inspect this property adequately before our arrival and then failed to respond appropriately when dangerous conditions were reported. I cannot and will not recommend Vacasa to other families until they demonstrate they take guest safety—especially child safety—seriously. Other parents deserve to know what we experienced.
We really enjoyed our stay in this cute A-frame cabin. There was plenty of room for our family and our pets, and the surrounding area is beautiful — we loved having hiking right outside. It was also very convenient being only about 15 minutes from the stateline/casino area which was perfect for new years. The home is older and the furniture shows its age, but everything worked fine and we were comfortable.
The location of the cabin is great it the furniture and the kitchenware are terrible, the dining table is about to fell apart, one of the chairs was moved upstairs with a broken leg, the lamp upstairs by the desk is broken in pieces, the living room chair has a broken arm rests, there are no wine glass at all, the deck is also falling apart, the bathroom door upstairs has no handles
