Our stay was perfect. The check-in directions were clear and we were able to seamlessly get in. The location is perfect. It is a few minutes away from Heavenly, but not too touristy. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware. The family room was cozy with ample seating -- perfect for family movie nights. My kids loved the bunk beds and chose to sleep in the same room instead of their own separate rooms. The master bedroom was roomy with a nice view of the backyard. We loved the front porch. It was perfect for a glass of wine after hitting the slopes. The washer and dryer was right inside the entrance which was perfect for drying wet ski clothes. Our dog loved the fenced in backyard. It was a perfect rental and we will be coming back next time we come to Tahoe!
The house is well-stocked with cookware and dinnerware for a small group (~4 people). Located near forest service lands so it is a great place to walk the dogs. The house is located in a neighborhood of mostly vacation rentals, so it is quiet during the week and can be noisy during holidays and weekends. Lovely place and we’d love to return.
This was our third stay at The Lazy Golden Cabin, and once again it was an incredible experience. The house was comfortable, clean, and spacious enough to give our family of three—and our dog—a truly relaxing getaway. Our pup especially loved the fully fenced yard, which gave him plenty of room to explore safely. We’re already looking forward to our next trip!
Drove 7 hrs to Lake Tahoe, arrived 2 hrs before checking and even though the property was unoccupied we were denied early check in. Once allowed entry, came in to a house that smelled musty and stuffy. Obviously the home had not been used in a while and yet we were denied early check in. We were going to use 2 of the 3 bedrooms and when we checked the beds, we found dog and human hair all over the comforters and sheets! This is not what you would expect from a $500a night rental! I immediately had to call Vacasa and on top of that the smoke alarm kept going off. Ben from Vacasa arrived withing 20 minutes with a bag with a King comforter, king sheets and a queen comforter but no sheets for the queen bed. I had to put the sheets to wash for the queen bed. The smoke detector was one that did not use batteries so we had to remove it in order to stop it from going off. The sofas were dusty so we had to clean them off with some micro fiber towels that we had brought for other purposes. There was no point in complaining to Ben from Vacasa because I didn't want him having to come over himself to clean the sofas.I believe that whatever cleaning service Vacasa uses should be held accountable for not providing good service. On the other hand the owners should also be more on top of how the property is kept so that paying customers like myself are not paying $500 a night for a unacceptable conditions. I will definitely not be staying here again.
A lovely single-story home in a very quiet neighborhood. Close enough to all the fun of South Lake Tahoe but far enough to feel like a resident and not a vacationer. Home was clean with nice, comfy furniture and appliances were all new and worked well. A nice backyard for our dog to run and play and burn off energy. Amenities in the bathroom were high-quality with plenty of clean towels. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and utensils. Smart TV & WiFi came in handy when it rained all-day on Saturday. We brought our own coffee and snacks and it made our vacation rental feel like home for the week. One of the best vacation homes we've ever rented. Book this home and enjoy all things South Lake Tahoe too!
