I love the place. It really feels like home
The cabin was not clean or well maintained. We found dirty dishes, dusty bunks, and blankets/pillows that did not seem clean. Several light switches didn’t work, a light bulb was out, the living room door handle was broken, and the coffee pot lid was broken. The TV in one bedroom and both fireplaces did not work. The hot tub was dirty, and the hallway bathroom had a bad odor. I contacted the host about the fireplace and TV, they said someone would come to fix the fireplace the following morning, but no one ever came, and I never received a response about the TV. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and follow up was disappointing.
This property was adequate for our stay in Tahoe, luckily we didn't need to spend to much time indoors. The house has potential but clearly needs some TLC to bring it up to the standard of other Vacasa properties we've rented. I can confirm what other reviews mentioned, the place needs a deep clean and some things weren't functional like the dryer. There are cobwebs all over that have obviously been accumulating for months or even years. There was a used tooth flosser and pimple patches left in the bathroom. The carpets and chair cushions had stains and the patio furniture was dirty. There was a stack of broken furniture and debris piled in one corner of the deck. Inside had a lingering smell of used cooking grease. We did use the hot tub even though it had a lot of dirt in it, I told the property manager who responded quickly. He said a maintenance person was on the way to clean it and the deck furniture. They never showed and the property manager never replied to multiple texts and voicemails. Also note there is a loose step that is a tripping hazard going up to the house. I wouldn't stay here again.
I got together with my siblings and we enjoyed hanging out in the large and comfortable common area space after a day of skiiing.
Our family absolutely loved your home. We usually stay at a hotel property in South Tahoe, this time we wanted a change of scenery. Being able to wake up and have a cup of coffee and look out the many windows in upstairs family area felt very peaceful and relaxing. We prepared and ate Thanksgiving dinner and even celebrated a birthday for a 17 year old. We will definitely be coming back to North Tahoe to make more memories.
If you just need a spot to sleep because you are skiing and eating out every meal, this would be ok. If you spend any time there at all, it's a no. Not clean. Not well maintained. Spa dirty. I messaged VACASA prior to arrival and received a response 24 hrs. later with an 800 umber.
