All was great
Let's start with what we loved. The location felt totally secluded as it is the last house on the block and is so quiet and peaceful, while overlooking the golf course. And yet, it's a only short walk or a very short drive to the sports center, golf clubhouse, or the main road to access Redmond or Sisters easily. The house was clean and all the common areas were very spacious. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. We loved the layout of the home with all the bedrooms and the additional living space upstairs. We felt right at home there, instantly relaxed on the back patio and balcony, and we hope to return with the rest of our family soon. What a beautiful place. There we just a few minor things that needed some love. The dishwasher wasn't working. They sent a repairman, but he was unable to fix it, so we had to handwash our dishes. The fireplace in the main living room also wasn't working, which was disappointing as we had seen it in the pictures and were looking forward to comfy nights by the fire. The sprayer in the main kitchen sink worked poorly (a bigger issue because of the dishwasher problem) and the brush in the area between the house and the golf course could use some care as it is overgrown and a potential fire hazard. Honestly, those are all pretty minor, but just an indication that the property could use a little TLC. That said, we loved our time at Blackbird Manor and will definitely reserve the home again.
The house lay out was great for a large amount of people, the Exterior and grounds were very nice.
It’s a great location for a beautiful, big house. We love Eagle Crest
Loved the big space and lovely patio but it needs some attention, good bones just needs TLC and some extra cleaning.
We stayed at Blackbird Manor for our annual July Sisters quilting week retreat -- a group of 7 quilters. The house is peaceful and spacious, being adjacent to open space and the golf course, with beautiful peak-a-boo views toward Redmond. It's also well-furnished, with comfortable beds and sitting areas. The layout of the house and its spacious rooms were perfect for a large group such as ours. Having a large kitchen table plus a very large dining table, both near large windows with lots of natural light, was also ideal for our quilting retreat. We also appreciated use of the garage, for the additional parking spaces it provided. Unfortunately, the light switches are VERY confusing (non-functional in some cases?), which presented an obstacle to sewing in the evenings, and for having places to plug in irons and sewing machines. Similarly, there were no instructions for how to operate the TV or the HVAC system (which did not sufficiently cool the house in the afternoons, despite cooling the house overnight with open windows and then adjusting shades against direct sunlight throughout the day). We also would have appreciated more towels and some standard starter supplies such as coffee, toilet paper, paper towel, and dishwasher detergent. The cleanliness level was OK, but the windows were quite dirty (obscuring the view) and the carpeting is old with an odor that bothered some. Better customer service in the form of ample instructions and labeling for the lights, HVAC, and TV systems, plus a deep clean, some starter supplies, and more ample linens, would bring Blackbird Manor to a 5-star "wow" accommodation.
