View, hot tub, location

Sofa couch was horrible. So I would advise only 1 couple to stay here. The hot water runs out fast, so shower fast. The view is good. But we won't stay at this cabin again.

Super cute and cozy spot!

I think this cabin is a bit better than its reviews. It's outdated (channeling the '80s), but the location is pretty, overlooking Whaleshead beach. The bedroom is insanely small (the website photos brilliantly hide this -- as they do the location of the enjoyable hot tub next to the neighboring cabin), but the living room/dining area is pleasant and the kitchen is functional. The queen bed isn't fantastic, but it's OK. The area will get a bit dull after about 2 days of sightseeing, so I'd recommend no longer than 3 nights unless you just want to chill. The check in drama described in the comments is a bit silly: Vacasa sends you a map and a code for the key box. It couldn't be easier. Our AT&T cell service also worked great. There are no tripping hazards, unless you miss the small stepdown into the mudroom after opening the door. There are a lot of spider webs outside, and the property would show a bit better if they were wiped away before guest arrival.

Nice unit, a bit worn but still pleasant and clean with a great view, comfortable bed and great hot tub

Let’s set the stage: I get a cheerful little text saying our cabin is ready early... score, right? Wrong. We arrive an hour and a half ahead of schedule, excited to check in and get our coastal mountain getaway started... only to find the check-in office locked up tighter than Fort Knox. No sign. No instructions. Not a soul in sight. And remember, this isn’t a bustling city. This is the mountains on the Oregon coast ... no cell service, no Wi-Fi, and apparently, no humans working the desk. Eventually, a guy pokes his head out from inside the building to let us know he doesn’t work there but check-in is online only. That’s super cute... except, again: no service, no signal, no clue. He directs us to another building to get a resort map. Spoiler alert: no maps there either. So what do we do? We play a thrilling round of Cabin Hide-and-Seek, navigating overgrown shrubbery and faded, half-missing road signs. We finally find the right unit (we think), and the key lockbox is jammed tighter than a toddler’s glitter glue cap. I was two seconds from going Hulk mode and ripping it off the wall. When we did manage to break into our “vacation,” here’s what greeted us: 🧼 Gross, grease covered cabinets not touched with a rag in years 🧼 Sticky, taffy-like candy squished into the living room rug 🕸️ Dirty, cobweb-covered windows muting what could’ve been a gorgeous view ☕ A dusty coffee station with stale coffee that tasted like a wet dishrag 💨 A musty, stale air situation that screamed we haven’t had guests in a while Oh, and let’s talk layout. My husband fell from the bedroom into the mudroom because there was a hidden step and zero signage to warn guests. Looked like a smooth transition from one room to the next… until he disappeared like a magician doing a vanishing act. Next up: the TV. It worked great ... if you only wanted sound, captions, and a lovely black screen. I called support (miraculously found a signal, thanks to a desperate hike up a hill). Their advice? Turn everything off, wait, turn it all back on. Look, I’m not tech support. I’m on vacation and already feeling ripped off. Their solution? Send someone tomorrow. TOMORROW?! You want me to waste a beach day babysitting a TV tech when I paid resort prices for this mess? Bottom line: I paid premium prices and got less than Motel 6 quality, with a side of spiderwebs, poor signage, no service, and a nice little fall hazard thrown in. Oh, and the shower? Let’s just say the door doesn’t latch, so enjoy the indoor slip-n-slide it creates across the bathroom floor. Bonus: I had to evict a full-blown spider family living rent-free in the corner before I could even rinse Vacasa, if you're listening: this ain’t it. White Rock or Whaleshead ... never again. If you’re reading this and considering a stay here, just know: I could’ve stayed beachfront, in town, with better service, for less money, and walked away with better coffee and a husband who didn’t fall through the floor. Choose wisely.
