McKenzie River Retreat
A beloved and established rental property for several years leading up to the devastating Holiday Farm Fire of 2020 that destroyed this and 400 other homes in the area, this riverside retreat now returns after a two-and-a-half-year rebuilding process to once again welcome guests to the scenic splendor of the McKenzie River. This inspiring riverfront house and cabin blends modern architecture with fantastic outdoor amenities that will make you feel like you’re floating on water! The cabin is ideal for two families or a group of fishing buddies. Guests enjoy easy water access for fishing, rafting, or kayaking and the property is midway between McKenzie Bridge and the Springfield/Eugene area, just 37 miles away. Inside the main house, a dramatic front wall of windows provides floor-to-ceiling views overlooking the McKenzie River. Comfortable lounge furniture makes the open-concept living room, dining room, and kitchen an inviting spot to enjoy the company of friends and family. Complimentary in-home WiFi makes it easy to stay in touch on social media, browse the web, or catch up on some remote work. Celebrate meals as a group while the phenomenal views feed your senses around the charming wood dining table. Meal prep is made easier with help from a well-stocked kitchen and there's additional seating at the breakfast bar. Once the plates are cleared, leave the cleanup to the dishwasher while you dive into a good book by the fire or get lost in a puzzle or game. The place is stunning with a gorgeous view and very well-equipped. Layout makes it easy for a large group to gather and find quiet space. Would definitely go here again.
We had the best time at the McKenzie River Retreat! It's the perfect size at a beautiful location for a family get together. We're already talking about when we can go back!
This house is beautiful and the layout for a big party was perfect. One bedroom downstairs and the other bedrooms upstairs. The river was incredible and we played in it since it’s only a foot deep. Comfortable seating and big kitchen. The master bedroom above the garage gets really hot, so bring a fan! Unfortunately, the biggest issue we had was that we wanted to extend our trip at the beginning of our trip but just for the main house. VACASA wouldn’t do that and made us book both homes and pay $480 for one night even though you can rent just the main house for a 2 night minimum. They refused to reach out to the owners of the home and was unwilling to help because it was one night and not two. (Even though we were already renting for 3 other nights!) that didn’t sit well with us AT ALL. Also the locks on the doors are extremely ridiculous and hard to figure out.
The homes are well designed. They allow enough common space for a large group of people to socialize. The layout allows for quiet rooms and ample kid space at the same time. We loved the river view. It’s interesting to watch the hills begin to grow back after the wildfire. I hope to stay there again.
This house and property is beautiful! The houses were very clean. We had had issues entering the houses upon arrival. We got through the gate, but the house access codes were incorrect. I called the help line. I sat on hold for 30 minutes, while the agent was "trying to contact the local agent". Finally, the local agent called me. She was unsure why the codes were not working. She gave me multiple codes to try. We finally got into the little house. Eventually we got access to the large house. The local agent was really nice to work with. This process in total was about an hour and 15 minutes. After we were finally able to get into both houses, everything was great!. The only other thing that was wrong, was the kitchen only had one small frying pan. For a house that can host 10 people, you would think the pots and pans would have been stocked better. We will definitely be back!.
We just spent 4 days at this wonderful property celebrating 3 generation September birthdays. The highlight for us is that there is a Master Suite on the ground floor and elderly parents can stay comfortably here without any stairs. The other great thing is that the “younger crowd” can stay in the smaller unit next door! The spacious decks allow for great outdoor living. We would definitely return to the McKenzie again!
