The house was in a perfect spot, lovely views and great amenities. The owners should be very proud.
Nice gathering space!
This is a really great house with everything you need! Watched Super Bowl on a huge TV with a fire burning in the fireplace. Definitely will choose this property again.
We very much enjoyed this house on our recent family snow weekend. We go up every year to "visit the snow"--alas not much snow this year--and have gotten big enough we need a larger place. This place was perfect for us. I'm sorry that a previous reviewer had a bad experience, we didn't see any of the issues that they had. Dishwasher was working fine, no garbage at the house, and hot tub was hot upon arrival. My only issue--and this is for the industry in general, not just this house--is that for such a high cleaning fee, not to mention an extra "hot tub" fee, I would expect that everything should be spotless and well organized. We had to look for a lost toy, which meant looking under couches, beds, cushions, etc, and found those areas to be very dirty. I consistently find this to be true of most short-term rentals I stay at, so I'm not criticizing this rental in particular, but considering how much cleaning fees have skyrocketed since COVID, it would be nice if I didn't keep finding these neglected areas. Also some of the kitchen cabinets were labeled, however the items that matched those labels were usually someplace else--leading us to think that they missing. Other than that, we had a great time. Loved the big windows, watching it snow outside (for about 15 minutes lol), able to fit everyone around the dining table, would stay here again!
Wonderful separation of upstairs and downstairs. Perfect for two families to have some alone time. Wonderful blend of cabin, chalet and modern home amenities.
Do you love a cold hot tub in the depth of winter? And a full garbage upon check in? How about missing sheets? And a dishwasher that doesn’t work and has been “reported”. And did I mention the non-stop “low battery” beeping coming from the garage? Well this is the place for you! I was very excited to rent a beautiful home with a hot tub, walking distance to government camp restaurants for new years with family and friends. Over the years I have rented and stayed at probably 6 different properties in government camp. This was definitely the worst one because it was not as advertised at all. In looks and description, this is definitely the nicest place I have rented to date. But in reality this property was vastly disappointing. As we checked in, there plastic garbage containers on the porch were totally full, and excess kitchen garbage from the previous tenants was in a plastic bag on the porch. During the course of our stay animals got into the bag leaving bones and food scraps all over the front porch. It was New Year’s Eve and we were planning a big meal for 10. The dishwasher had a sign on it stating “dishwasher not working. Has been reported”. And there was only one sponge and one tiny bottle of soap provided for 4 night of dishes/pots/pans for 10 people. I would think in a property of this caliber management would replace or fix the dishwasher ASAP. Next off, as we are assessing the bed situation for the kids, we find the two twin bed pullouts downstairs don’t have sheets anywhere in the house. I immediately called management, looked in every drawer and closet I had the ability to. They promised someone would be by that evening with sheets. This turned out to be false and the kids slept without sheets that night. Being new years and the beginning of a vacation we were looking forward to a soak in the hot tub. In fact this was the primary reason for selecting this property. We found the water temperature was 65 degrees. It would take hour led to come up to temp, so it was completely not usable for the first day of our rental. Lastly, there was non stop beeping coming from the owners garage that I think was a low battery for the security system. I called and reported it on the first day there, and nothing was done. The people with keen hearing in the downstairs had trouble sleeping. In fact half my group left 1-2 day early due to the conditions of this rental. For future rentals, I would consider the grand lodges or any of the rentals from mountain resort lodging with Blane.
