Mt Hood lodge in Forest Setting with Firepit & NEW Private Hot Tub

We were significantly disappointed by this reservation for the price we paid. There is very low lighting throughout the house it appears that a lot of the cleaning is missed. The floor below the bathroom sink downstairs was filthy; there was something with a foul odor left under the primary bedroom bed and made the room inhabitable during our stay. We had to call the local person who came in and tried to clean it up, but the smell persisted. Some dishes were put away with dried food on them, the washing machine was mildewy and the dryer lint trap had not been cleaned ahead of our stay. We love the location, it was beautiful and quiet, that was the saving grace, but for the price, the quality of the home, the beds, furniture and the level of cleanliness, it was significantly overpriced. The couch downstairs and the couch upstairs are both quite uncomfortable. The TV was a bit difficult to operate and could be updated. The upstairs toilet makes a loud whining sound for 5-10mins at a time, day and night, which can be heard throughout the house. The lighting is poor and it's difficult to see in the house. We did not use the hot tub, so can’t speak to that part of the experience. We would not rent here again. We have a toddler and found that there were areas of the house that were unsafe, like the downstairs bathroom.

My wife and i loved this house, we brought our 2 dogs and they loved it as well. Very cozy house with everything needed for a great stay!

There’s just something special about isolating yourself with family/friends, and this beautiful home was the perfect spot! We loved the historic build, unique spaces, and convenient mountain location. Hoping to return again next winter!

Great for a group. Not too far from Portland. Kitchen is well equipped. Not suggested for WiFi or TV access.

Sycamore Lodge is an enchanted and beautiful place. The house has inviting energy. All of the wood, the hearth, the little nooks, the gorgeous grounds, the hot tub delight the senses. It’s one of the only rentals I’ve been able to sleep really well in. It was absolutely perfect for a family and friends gathering with its high ceilings and the openness of communal areas, large dining table, multiple sleeping options. We didn’t want to leave and we will definitely be back. There were two flaws that should be tended to. First, the gorgeous copper tub was a big reason why we chose this place. Unfortunately, the water pressure was so low that it took about 30+ minutes to get it halfway full and, by then, the water had begun to cool down. We ended up carrying two large pots of boiling water up the stairs to reheat it. Needless to say, it’s not really functional. The place needs a water pump or something. Second, we noticed that all the dishes and utensils were covered in debris. Upon further inspection, we found the culprit to be the dishwasher which was absolutely coated in mold. It appeared as though the filter had never been cleaned. A couple of our guests were sneezing and sniffling the moment we got there and I can’t imagine there wasn’t quite a lot of mold spores in the air. We did our best to clean the mold and the filter out of the dishwasher and rewash as many dishes as we could. This could be a real problem for people with sensitive health conditions. Everything else was spotless. In fact, we loved our time there so much, I can let what would normally be untenable for a rental, slide. I trust that the dishwasher will be tended to and hope that something can be done for the tub, which deserves to be useable.

Cabin and location was exactly what we were looking for. Surrounded by large trees to give you a privacy fees while also 10mins for coffee , food and much more. Also found multiple great destinations all within 15-30mins. Cabin had a fun charm that made it fun for the whole family.
