Loved the location and the access to the pool & hot tub within the nearby hotel. Loved the winter Olympics. Loved the Mexican restaurant in Welches with their tasty margaritas. Loved watching the snowfall off the back porch and blanketing the fairway.
Upon arrival, front door was wide open in plain sight from street, with lock box of house keys also left open next to front door. Had been left open for 7 hours. Upon searching the house for “uninvited guests” and ensuring that the property looked safe (never quite felt safe thereafter as anyone could have grabbed extra set of keys or copied them or…), we noticed right away a smoker’s smell throughout the house which eventually dissipated after airing out the house over the next day and a bit, could be the owners, perhaps the neighbors, maybe the cleaning crew? Definitely not the wood fireplace smell. Also, two of the bathrooms were not cleaned, just forgotten and skipped over. New towels were in place, but we had to clean counters sinks toilets and empty trash (kind of gross). Called Vacasa right away and let them know all of these issues. As it was late, they let me know that they couldn’t resolve anything that evening, but that I would be contacted the following morning to fix and potentially change properties. Never received a call, text or email reply from Vacasa during whole stay, nothing. Had to sleep with a chair were under the front door handle the rest of the trip and never left anything in the property while we were out and about. Total inconvenience and horrible service. Could be a one-off totally related to poor cleaning crew, but for Vacasa to do nothing, pretty alarming and telling of what you are getting from them. Apart from all of this, the property was great. However will never stay here again.
My family came to visit from north Carolina. They were so happy with the stay to a point they asked about coming out once a year. So we will be repeat customers.
Cozy and comfortable with a spacious master bath. Great retreat.
Great price & now I know why. No reliable internet connection. So don’t expect to be able to work from this house. Or do anything using the internet. The pull out couches are not good. Easily 20+ year old mattresses. One of them (the decent one) you can feel every spring just below the fabric casing. The other one has broken springs that holds the mattress in place. So you’ll be sleeping at a slant. Vacasa said they couldn’t do anything about providing an air mattress to remedy the situation, which was disappointing to need a place for 6 & had to come up with alternate sleeping arrangements. So bring extra places to sleep if you have more than 4 people (1 king & 1 queen). Home had adequate dishes & linens. & the bbq works great. It was nice to have an extra gas tank. Because the one attached was almost empty. Pool & hot tub access are close & a great plus for the property.
We had a good time using this property as a home base for going snowboarding on Mt. Hood. The house internals are pleasant and the workings of all the appliances was satisfactory. The kitchen tools need attention: chef's knife was bent and had a melted handle, some of the pots were no longer flat bottomed, etc... More than anything, however, was the state of cleanliness. There were previous renter's hairs in the main shower, significant visible showings of black mold on the shower sprayer/tub, drinking glasses that had lipstick marks on them, and overall lack of cleanliness a renter should expect upon arrival. When brought up with customer service and requesting a waiving of the cleaning fee, I was denied, even though detailed photos were supplied upon request. I will never use Vacasa again!!
