Nice antiques, comfy furniture (except guest bed). Decent view of the ocean and a local surf spot, if you don't mind a lot of signage obscuring some of it. Steep short climb to/from the beach. Second bed mattress still saggy despite promises to replace it. The master sliding closet door casters were too degraded to allow moving them without extreme effort, a hardship for the elderly/disabled. No instructions for all the remotes. We didn't even try to use the TV. Most windows don't open. Heat worked well. Quiet neighborhood.
Great location across from Chapman Beach. It’s an easy drive (or walk ) to town as well. Cabin is small but homey—ideal for small family. We had two couples which was fine but second bedroom is only big enough for the bed (no nightstands or bedside lamps) so our suitcases had to be out by the washer/dryer. Also the mattress in that room is worn out—you can see the crater in the middle. I think with a few improvements (new mattress, wall shelves for lamps and phones) and a deep clean this place would be an absolute gem.
Everything was great and as advertised but the mattress in guest bedroom had a huge sag in middle. Please replace 🙏.
We loved the location, cozy fireplace and cleanliness. Firewood is not provided so be sure to bring your own. The beds were comfortable. I'd guess there have been no improvements to the home since the 1980s, so expect faded, worn and dated decorations and some clutter. Those things don't really bother us so we would definitely return for the coziness, and the proximity to Ecola state park and the beach.
Lovely and quiet spot in Cannon Beach. We enjoyed the wildlife, scenery and history of Chapman Cottage.
Proximity to the beach was fantastic!!!
