Overview
Step out onto the deck, breathe in the salty sea air, and greet each day with a sweeping view of the ocean and mountains at this comfortable home in Brookings. In this beautiful spot in the heart of the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, you'll have the most picturesque stretch of the Oregon Coast right outside your door.
This single-story home sits across the Oregon Coast Highway and up the hill from Whaleshead Beach, an elevated position which grants it gorgeous sunset views. Spend your days going for long scenic drives, hiking the Oregon Coast Trail, and taking photographs of dramatic sea stacks and deserted ocean coves. Such notable landmarks as Harris Beach State Park, Cape Ferrelo, the Thomas Creek Bridge, Natural Bridges, and Arch Rock State Park are all within seven miles.
A highlight of this home is the deck - a large, partially covered outdoor space where you can choose between sun and shade. It's the perfect spot for barbecuing in the afternoons, popping open a bottle of Oregon wine at sunset, and marveling at the view all around you.
The interior is every bit as inviting, with plentiful details of natural wood adding warmth and character. After a day spent beachcombing or tidepooling, come home to share a few photos via the complimentary WiFi and curl up with a good movie streaming on TV.

We were incredibly impressed with this home. It sits on a road at the very top of the Whaleshead Beach Resort so you look over the valley toward the wooded hills and to the ocean below. The drive up is a fun adventure - up around many turns - and you feel like you're at the eagle's nest when you arrive. You can park your car right in front of the unit. Check in was seamless - just a key in a lockbox - you are sent the code the day before your stay. The unit was absolutely spotless when we arrived - and we have pretty high standards for cleanliness! There are lots of windows and because it's an end unit, one set of living room windows looks east to some large trees and the other looks south toward the awesome views. The kitchen has sliding doors out to a partially covered deck. The is a love seat, two chairs and a small coffee table under the roofed part which is raised so it's easy to see the view while you're sitting. The uncovered part has a bar-height table with two chairs. There is also a small lower deck, but we didn't find any need use this space. The kitchen is well stocked and all of the appliances worked. The table is bar height, so you get the views from here too. The bedroom was quiet with a comfortable bed, a closet and lots of drawers for storage. The bath has two sinks and a separate area for the tub/shower and toilet. There is also a loft with an additional bed which we did not use. The living room furniture was pretty comfortable with a good large screen TV and some books. The turquoise paint throughout the home put me off a bit when I saw online, but in person it is cheerful and unifies the whole place. This home was really quiet - you can hear some road noise when you're on the deck but none when you're inside. The location worked really well for us. We mostly hiked and enjoyed the various places along the Samuel Boardman Scenic Corridor and this home sits right in the middle of that. It was about an eight-minute drive to Brookings for groceries or restaurants. Compared to staying in Brookings, it is also a bit closer to Gold Beach and Port Orford it you want to explore there. If we ever return to this area of the country, we will definitely stay here again!
The view from this cabin is stunning with mountains, ocean and lots of sky. It has just about everything you need provided, and the decor has a cute beachy theme. Checking in and out was easy. The two mini-splits with ceiling fans make heating and cooling a breeze. The bed and couch could be more comfortable, and the furnishings better positioned for enjoying the view. Some noise from the highway in outdoor spaces. Overall an enjoyable stay.
The view in this place from almost every window is spectacular. Go out on the deck and the view of the tree tops and ocean with sea stacks and you won’t ever want to leave. The home was comfortable and nice-many thoughtful things were left for use like flashlights, extra blankets, towels, soap, shampoo and kitchen supplies. There are grocery stores nearby as well as restaurants, and a quaint downtown area. Pick up some seafood from Pacific Coast Harvesters and cook it out on the deck on the grill! I can’t wait to come back.
Clean. Organized. Located at the topmost area of the resort. Steep incline. View of ocean and mountain is spectacular! Deck area where you can enjoy breakfast and coffee.
