Mountain view home in an oceanfront community above Whaleshead Beach

Great place. Heat needs to be cranked up or fixed, it was pretty chilly.

The location of the rental is located in a quiet community, surrounded by forest, and only a few minutes drive from Whaleshead Viewpoint. The place is decorated nicely in the theme of fish/seaside, in bright colors throughout. We didn't utilize the large deck or BBQ, but both would be ideal for spring/summer travelers. We found the kitchen and bedrooms to be stocked well with all the amenities one needs away from home. The set up of the home is a bit funky, with 1 bedroom not having any storage and the only bathroom being part of a master bedroom which limited privacy. A few areas of improvement: 1) the mattresses on the beds are quite firm and could use an update, 2) the furnace does not work properly, which required use of the many space heaters in the rental - it took our family ~ 4 hours to heat after arrival, and 3) the bathroom tub drain is problematic and took ~ 1-2 hours to drain after a short shower. Hopeful that some of these noted issues will be resolved prior to future rentals. Would also recommend, that any future visitors bring their own shampoo, conditioner and bath gel - as only small travel size bottles were available for guests, which required us to travel to the city center of Brookings the day after our arrival. Very clean and had everything I would ever need while on vacation. I highly recommend this property!

It was clean

Initially arrived and wasn’t sure what unit I was supposed to go to. Had to reread everything to realize this, so not obvious. Very cozy and quiet. Smoke alarm kept going off even though there was no smoke (??). Somehow a slug got into the kitchen - trying to stay rent free - lol. Nice place and I will stay again.
