Dog-Friendly Home with Expansive Deck with Hot Tub and Dock on Woahink Lake

This place shouldn't be listed for rent. Any pictures you find are several years old, this place is so run down. Not only run down, but whoever comes to clean and care for the place in between guests spends little to no time doing so. After contacting AVARI about the concerns they said they'd get back to me, they did not and when I followed up, their email address is no longer accepting emails? Scam. Unfortunately you can get totally scammed booking through Vacasa or AVARI. The number one issue was the smell of rot, mold, and mildew. It is so extreme that the entire game room could not be occupied and the windows had to be left opened. We had to wash all the bedding before sleeping, they were clearly slept in and not washed. The kitchen is NOT fully equipped. The few dishes they had were still wet. Dirty dishes in the cupboard, a broken toaster, and a filthy stained tiny coffee pot. There were two 4" fry pans but about 15 various pots... No garbage liners, paper towels etc. We had to go buy paper plates, utensils and paper towels. No trailer will go down this narrow overgrown driveway and a full size truck can barely make it. you are asked to take the trash up this driveway if you happen to be there on garbage day.... so the can was already almost full when we got there and we were expected to bring it to the end of the driveway. Just a strange request from a vacation rental company.

We loved having a deck the dogs could roam, the hot tub was very clean, the view of the lake is fantastic, the lake is lovely.

We made the best of it but this was a disappointing stay, which is unfortunate as the cabin itself is very charming and the view is incredible. However after rereading the other reviews of this cabin, it's clear that Vacasa responds with an Ai bot, and doesn't actually address any of the issues. We didn't contact them about the issues we encountered for two reasons, 1 was we were here for our Christmas getaway, we didn't want to interact with a random Vacasa person in our space, while trying to enjoy the holiday and 2 we also had little faith that the issues would be addressed adequately and be non-disruptive to our holiday. The issues include (but are not limited to): Cleanliness, while it appeared it was clean at first glance, the more you looked around the more obvious it was that it only gets cleaned superficially, just surface level cleaning. This cabin is in dire need of a very thorough deep clean, as other reviews have also said. I myself used about 2/3 of a package of lysol wipes and more time then I care to admit cleaning things, so that I could feel somewhat comfortable in this space. It would be appreciated to have our cleaning fee refunded for my time/energy cleaning. Upon entering the cabin, you immediately notice a strong mildew/moldy smell. That above all else needs addressed. Once we noticed the air purifier, it was turned on and it stayed on the rest of our stay, though it also needs cleaned out too. The spiral staircase pole and railing were black and sticky, it was clear it had been years since it had been scrubbed. The mirrors and windows had children's hand prints all over them. There is visible black mold on the shower handle. Dishes were put away wet. We definitely left it cleaner then we found it. As other reviewers mentioned, the TV is still broken and glitches every 3 seconds, which made trying to watch Christmas movies quite frustrating. The hot tub's still has broken jets, maybe 5 out of 30 jets worked, most were missing parts, the head rests are missing and the top is so water logged, it's incredibly heavy, my husband and I could barely lift it together. The first step of the dock to the lake is very broken and dangerous. We thought from the responses to the reviews in the last 1-2years, that these issues were handled, it was disappointing to see that they definitely were not. To tell people you're going to fix these issues and then to not, is deceitful, and that really did't sit right with us. We did take photos/videos of most of these issues. For what it costs to stay here, this cabin really should be in much better shape, it's sad to see because it does have the potential to be really nice. We do have photos of the issues as well.

The house a great . It had a amazing view and was calm and peaceful. The host was was very helpful when ever we had a problem. I will for sure recommend.
