Overview

The Heceta House vacation rental is a lovely and comfortable home within walking distance to Heceta Beach. The top level of this house is a 'surf shack' style room, where you can sit and read the day away and watch the ocean. There is a wonderfully whimsical room for children with an undersea mural painted on the wall and a bunk bed in the shape of a boat. And two additional bedrooms both with queen beds. Relax in the upstairs master suite which has claw foot tub and second TV/DVD. Open the windows and let the sounds of the sea rock you to sleep. Sit and enjoy the company of family and friends next to the fireplace, enjoy walks to the beach, or come visit the quaint shops and restaurants in Old Town Florence. Florence draws folks from all over for its lakes, mini-golf, world renowned golf course, horse-back riding, hiking, quaint downtown, tide pools, dunes and whale watching. The Heceta House is the perfect place to come enjoy the feel of being at the beach. The Fisherman's Cottage is a separate studio rental on the same property that can sleep an additional 2 people with the new double bed. Soothing colors and reclaimed wood provide the perfect escape for a romantic weekend or beachside solitude. The cottage is just steps to the beach and it is equipped with TV/DVD microwave, mini-fridge and eating area.

Pets are welcome at this property for an additional pet fee of $200 per stay. Please add your pet during the booking process or contact us prior to arrival so the fee can be applied.

Great easy walk to the beach. Fun for to families 3 teens two tweens 4 adults

If you’ve looked at those beautiful old weathered shake beach houses with white trim, and wondered what they feel like inside, this is your home. It’s original, old, and quirky; very different from the pristine cookie-cutter vacation houses. We enjoy the modern ones too, but this house, filled with ships, oars, a stone fireplace, and a captain’s lookout on the 3rd floor has real character, and we loved it. The kitchen is not fully stocked, but we found it sufficient and there’s a bbq on the porch (and a big hot tub). The kids room on the second floor has sleeping booths and wonderful murals on the walls and floor. There’s even an even quirkier fisherman’s cottage, complete with a tiny bathroom. It’s a short walk to the beach, or you can drive around the block to its parking lot.

The birds in general but specifically the ones feeding their chicks nested in the rafters on the porch. There were nests at both ends of the porch. The big pitch is really great. It wasn’t warm when we visited but we did take hot tubs and used the large grill but couldn’t comfortably eat at the table outside. The couple in the fishermen’s cottage liked it a lot. They were the ones who could bound up the hill in the morning.
