The style of the house. The book about the house with exactly where to find what you need or to work the pool, electronics etc. this felt very high end and was well maintained. Great area so close to town. Would love to rent the Oscar’s Mayer house again. Appreciate d the little treasures like the lemons and grapefruit on the trees. The Oscar Mayer and current families history. Just loved the house It made our trip.

Short drive to downtown. Cool house in a very architecturally historic neighborhood. Lots of common spaces inside and out and large bedrooms all with their own bathroom. Very quiet neighborhood.

We loved EVERYTHING about this home. Our adult children fly out early December and we decided to celebrate an early Christmas at a new location and this could t have been more perfect. I think we may have created a new tradition.

Oscar Mayer house is a very authentic mid-century modern, it's like stepping into the set of MadMen! The furniture was period-chic, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was spacious and well stocked and the pressure in the shower was great! Slightly disappointing that you can only enjoy the mountain view from the pool area or the bedroom in the east wing (great to see the morning sun illuminate the mountains and see the changing colors of the desert) - the living room and dining room are at the center of the U-shaped house, so no view from there. The electrical system is also original 1959 so it has some challenges - we couldn't get any of the outdoor floodlights to work around the courtyard, put the in-pool light provided a nice ambience in the evening. The hot tub was great too - but be sure to purchase heat for the pool so the hot tub can be hot, otherwise you'll be spa-ing in tepid water. The maintenance / management people responded quickly to our request for spa heat, so it was hot on day 2 of our stay. Overall a comfortable and relaxing getaway - we loved the 80F Thanksgiving weather in Palm Springs and we'll book it again for future visits.
