Serene is a great description for this location. Loved the trees, and the privacy. And there was much about the cabin that we enjoyed: great hot tub (but an oddly long walk around the house to get to it, which may not matter in the summer but was cold in the fall), comfy master bed (but some of the kid beds were not great), nice wood burning fireplace (but the stove that was advertised in the listing was broken and we spent a lot of time with customer service to ensure we weren’t held responsible), gorgeous views (but some were blocked by loads of unnecessary tacky decor). We arrived planning to cook on the grill for dinner. The propane was empty. I made coffee in the morning and ended up pouring a dead spider from the coffee maker into my cup. The frother was covered in spider webs. Other areas were quite clean. The owners ask that you start a load of towels before you leave, but left us no laundry detergent. The heating is very effective, but the request that no windows be opened was ridiculous. Enjoying the mountain air should be part of the experience. Ultimately, we made the best of it and had a nice time. But some repairs and a good edit on the decor and restrictions would have made this a place I’d like to visit again.
Beautiful, striking interior w loads of amenities, stunning setting - peaceful, hillside setting among forest. Close to everything “McCall”. Serenity has earned its name.
The owners of this cabin should get out of the passive income business. The cabin was full of condescending notes and instructions (over 30 notes taped all over creation). Not to mention sheets of paper with fine print littered around containing even more instructions. Meantime you’ll love all the locked doors and closed off areas you can’t go in, the misleading switches that all turn on and off the wrong lights, handles missing on all cabinets and drawers in the kitchen, dysfunctional WiFi, and overall the feeling you’re intruding on someone’s personal space rather than enjoying a vacation. I’ve stayed with vacasa many times and most people know how to style and feature a cabin for guests. This place is more like a weird museum of junk that is way too highly valued, you’re not allowed to touch, and have to tolerate as you try and maneuver your way around without disturbing anything. Again, the owners should not be renting for passive income. They don’t embody the spirit of renting a cabin in McCall.
It is a place of serenity just as described.
I would have given this place a 5 star but the garbage can was full when we arrived. We arrived on Tuesday and the garbage can was full and per instructions the garbage was not picked up on Wednesday, other than that I would recommend this cabin great view and privacy
