The condo itself was great as always, however the access to amenities such as the hot tub sauna, and laundry needs improvement.
This home was so cozy and perfect for a weekend get away. Hope to come back soon.
It was a cozy place for the 5 of us. The patio was amazing. Kitchen had everything we needed. In the hot summer months, an air conditioner would have been great. For a group of coffee drinkers, a larger coffee pot would have been nice. It was fun for the group to go down to the main lodge and enjoy the summer activities.
May 24 to 26, 2024 You guys have been after us for a review, so you asked for it: Dealing with Vacasa was a lot like dealing with a cable or cell phone company. We called them at the bottom of the mountain fearing cell phone coverage would become spotty at best at the top to find out how to get into the unit. The person couldn't find our reservation and was no help at all. If possible, I would have cancelled then. Through process of elimination, we tried their app entitled trip summary or something only to find out that you have to take pictures of your license and a selfie to get access to the room. We spent an hour or so working through all this parked at the side of the road. Had we known all this before, we would have NEVER reserved this unit. Next, another phone call, this time to someone who was helpful and gave us codes (two of them since she was not sure which would work) to get us in the door. The room was a hike from the parking lot. The hall inside the building obviously hadn't been cleaned in months if ever. The furniture was battered dorm room. There was NO COFFEE SUPPLIED (remember it is an hour one way down 6,000 ft to a store). They made a big deal about putting their parking pass in the car window but did not supply anything that would write the required information on it - all this for a lot that had 2 or 3 cars in it. The wifi did not work due to a problem with the router. Another phone call with someone who first tried to justify this but finally supplied a phone number for someone local who got us a code to a different server. Since if was obvious that Vacasa could not and would not do anything that couldn't be handled by smart phone, we didn't even bother to report the dead batteries in the TV remote or the fact that there was only one pot holder. We tried to extend our stay one day but decided not to because Vacas added service charges and another charge for room cleaning! (as if another day would add to the cleaning time). Bear in mind that the cleaning charge was already exorbitant (cost more than the 2 night stay) and far more than anyone else demanded in our experience. This is the only place we stayed on our month long road trip where we did not tip. If I owned this unit, I would find someone else, anyone else other than Vacasa to handle things. The good part: The unit probably had the best views of any - unobstructed views from 6,000 ft above Boise. The fireplace worked and wood was supplied although the inside wood storage was not stocked. The kitchen was functional. As I mentioned to person we talked to about extending our stay, we will never rent from Vacasa again if we have any choice. She thought that was funny. They behave a lot like a time share company who thinks they have a captive customer base and their marketing plan reflects that.
As far as I can tell, the Pioneer condos all have the same floor plan, so it's the views and furnishings that make the difference. If you want the best views, this is a great option! If you want fancy furnishings, then you'll want to look elsewhere. Regardless, this condo is my new favorite. I love that it's at the end of the development so there are fewer neighbors and nothing blocking the gorgeous views of the valley. The Murphy bed/dining table combo is a creative add that's great for kids, while the island offers more counter space for the well-stocked kitchen. These features also make things a bit more cramped but overall we enjoyed our stay.
