Dog & wedding-friendly home with private pool, bikes & beach gear

Our annual girls trip is held here and every year we are so happy and can’t wait to come back. This house has 4 full bathrooms which is a plus for 10 of us getting ready every day. The four bedrooms have plenty of space and comfortable beds. The house was spotless when we got there and ready for 10 of us! This house has four huge spaces to relax in. The backyard has a pool area with lots of space to hang out with a group. The downstairs bar area has a TV, grilling area and a fun space to hang out and relax. The inside has an open floor plan with a cozy fireplace for chilly nights. Upstairs there is a big screened in porch as well as an outside porch area, great for star gazing at night. There is a golf cart on site that you can rent for an additional fee which is great! We love staying on the island because there is so much to do, especially with the beach in the warmer months. Driving into Apalachicola is a fast 15 minute drive where the shopping and restaurants are second to none! No matter the size or makeup of your group there is something for everyone at this house!

The house itself was nice and very accommodating other than the cockroaches...we called and the pest guy wasn't available that day but they brought out some spray my husband sprayed for them...we noticed them in the keurig that we had used already...the pest guy came out and sprayed and tons came running out from under the fridge.. and informed us that they were the German type that layed thousands of eggs by the day and hard to get rid of and the appliances needed to be replaced and the house not rented until they got rid of them. We seen them every time we opened a cabinet and had to wash every single thing before we used it every single time....not fun!! Looking back on reviews someone had complained about the bugs on February of this year and they said they were taking care of them . We stayed the week of July 26th and they were very much not taken care of. For our inconvenience they refunded 275.00 . WOW! Bikes were there to ride but full of rust...too dangerous to ride! CHECK FOR BUGS IF YOU RENT THIS PLACE YOU DON'T WANT TO TAKE THESE INVASIVE DEVILS HOME FROM VACAY WITH YOU!

House was great. Outside area really bad.

I would love to give this property a 5/5 stars. It is a beautiful home just a short walk/drive to the beach. The swimming pool was old but functional and we enjoyed it daily. The screened front porch was amazing and spent a lot of time there. One bathroom had a small of issue of the shower holding water, not a big deal. The biggest deal and it was a really BIG deal to us was the German roaches that were in the kitchen. On the first day there we noticed a couple of dead ones and thought well maybe the exterminator had been recently. Then the next day (Sunday) while cooking there were a couple on the counter and on the table. I called the next day first thing when office hours opened to report this. Vacasa staff was apologetic and said they would get an exterminator out as soon as possible. The exterminator did show up first thing the next morning and sprayed. He said we would see some dead ones the next day and did but also some live ones as well. The day of departure a big cockroach fell from my son's bathroom ceiling almost landing on him! There was also a big cockroach crawling on the amazing porch that morning. 😒 This is a great house but I think it needs an exterminator on a monthly rotation to keep the bugs under control. As much as I loved the house itself, it's doubtful I would rent this one again due to the bugs.

We loved the layout of the house and the location. The pool was lovely.
