Guests appreciated the clean feel of the home, the attractive decor, and the well-stocked kitchen that made meals at home easy. The location was especially loved for being very close to the beach and boardwalk while also feeling peaceful, private, and tucked into a quiet neighborhood setting. Beautiful views, relaxing outdoor areas, and the refreshing private pool added to the overall appeal. Guests also repeatedly valued the elevator, beach access, and pet-friendly experience, and enjoyed thoughtful extras like books, games, and recreation space.

Overview

This comfortable St. George Plantation vacation home features a private screened swimming pool, plenty of room for your group to relax, and exclusive community amenities including tennis courts, a fitness center, a community clubhouse and pools, nature trails, and bicycle paths. Nestled in treetops and lush native vegetation, Abbeyfeale is secluded while close to Island shops, restaurants, nightlife, and the St. George Island Lighthouse Museum. The exterior of this property offers a private cul-de-sac setting that just steps away from the community boardwalk leading to the white sandy beach. This vacation home features a private screened pool area, screened entertainment area with a Ping-Pong table, covered picnic table, enclosed hot/cold outdoor shower, fish cleaning area, park-style grill, and outdoor swing to relax and enjoy the Island breeze. Enclosed foyer stairs and elevator (available for guest use) lead to the floors above. The first floor features an open living area with a TV and opens to the covered deck. A queen sleeper sofa in this space offers extra sleeping options. There is the first main bedroom with private deck access and two guest bedrooms with flatscreen TVs with a shared hallway and a full bathroom on this floor. The laundry room with a washer/dryer is located on the first floor. The second floor offers a spacious living/dining/kitchen area with amazing coastal views. The living area features a gas fireplace, TV, and lots of comfortable seating. The living area opens to the amazing second-floor screened porch. The second main bedroom with TV, private deck access, and jetted tub completes the second floor. Abbeyfeale is also equipped with DVD and VCR players, a stereo, and a variety of books, toys, and games for your group to enjoy.

We enjoyed our stay at Abbeyfeale. The layout of the home -- two living areas and bedrooms on both levels -- suited our group of two couples of friends, as we had spaces to gather and quiet places to ourselves. The home is well stocked with all we needed in the kitchen, a selection of books and games (forgot the fun of dominoes!), outdoor spaces, and a refreshing pool. Abbeyfeale is located within St. George Plantation, and we appreciated the quiet, relaxing surroundings within earshot of the surf. One word of caution: This home appealed to us since it has an elevator, and some of our party have mobility issues. While the beach access is practically right off the driveway, the boardwalk has a number of stairs (50 to be exact) to get to the sand. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
