This charming and delightful beachfront cottage offers amazing Gulf of Mexico views and a private boardwalk leading to the white sandy beach! A Sea Of Sand & Stars has an excellent Gulf Beaches location close to Island shops, restaurants, nightlife, and the St. George Island Lighthouse Museum! The exterior of this property features a private boardwalk, an outdoor shower, and a park-style grill. A covered entryway provides access to the first floor, featuring a main bedroom with a flatscreen TV, a jetted tub, and a private deck overlooking the sea. The second main bedroom with a flatscreen TV is also on this floor. The second floor offers an open plan living/dining/kitchen area with colorful coastal decor and amazing views of the Gulf of Mexico. There is plenty of comfortable seating, a flatscreen TV, and French doors and windows opening to the covered deck. The queen sleeper sofa in the living area provides additional sleeping options for your group. There is plenty of room for your crew at mealtime at the dining table and bar/counter that separates the kitchen from the living area. This galley kitchen is equipped with everything you need for beachside feast preparation! There is a sleeping nook in the upstairs open loft with two beds and a flatscreen TV. First time in 35 years we changed our anniversary get-a-way from the mountains to the beach and it did not disappoint! October weather was great, no crowed beaches, awsome temperature, great food, no heavy traffic. Vacasa made things very easy for check in and out-was very prompt with communication via text and emails. Truly a great experience!

The redeeming quality is location. Otherwise, it wasn’t a great rental experience. The house needs updates, but that’s not a problem. It’s the dinginess or lack of maintenance more than being outdated. Our feet or socks were black within minutes of taking our sandy shoes off at the door. The outside chairs had broken boards. The house felt like it swayed in the wind or whenever someone walked quickly across the house- which with other signs of patches or lack of quality care was concerning. Other reviews mention the stairs and mobility. I didn’t see a lot about how steep AND shallow the steps are. Not all terrible. All the appliances worked, beds were comfortable, and the location was wonderful. The check-in/check-out process was seamless and not a lot required for check-out to-dos. When we had a bug issue in the kitchen (small roaches coming from behind the oven and dishwasher when they were turned on…), I heard from a real local rep via text who took care of scheduling with pest control. Would I rent this property again? No. Would I consider renting another close by from Vacasa? Depends.

Wonderful location close to the lighthouse and shops. We were very pleased with the accommodations and would absolutely stay again. One caution is the stairs are fairly steep so it may be challenging for guests with limited mobility to access the kitchen and living area upstairs.
