Blu 405 - Fourth floor oceanfront condo with ocean views, private W&D, and central AC

We spent the first week of January in Blu 405. We loved it. The weather kept us on the balcony and out of the wind. But the balcony is clean and the furniture was perfect. Someone complained in an earlier review about no independent method of locking the door and no cookie sheets. Those all still the case. But we had no intrusions by Staff, so the lack of a lock did not affect us. We also needed a cookie sheet, but found a muffin sheet and made due. The rooms' appointments were great. The appliances were great (our cook gave the kitchen and gear A grades). The TV situation was great (we watched the college football playoffs). There were some admin glitches with the building staff (not Vacasa) but they were resolved. I call it no harm, no foul. Thanks for the help with booking. Big Kudos to Mary and Tracy at Vacasa.

Every year my mother and adult kids meet me at a beach condo to celebrate the holidays. We've stayed in half a dozen Okaloosa Island resorts over the years. This was our first, and last, at Blu. The building was nice with two pools, one of which was heated. The hot tub was out the entire time during our stay. This was not communicated to us in advance. The living spaces are generously sized. The bedrooms fit beds, with the king and two queens being very comfortable. The twin room did not have a closet or a dresser which made it difficult to store clothes. This room also had an odd musty smell, like someone's basement. The kitchen was large and comfortable. Sadly it was not stocked to serve 8 guests. Plates, bowls, cups, mugs- not one had 8 pieces. All of the large bowls had chips around the rim and at least one of the plates had a chunk missing. The flatware was thin and did not work as well as the plastic ware we used instead. The balcony was large and that furniture was very comfortable. The view was flawless. Ultimately, for the price this unit and resort did not deliver the experience we have come to expect in a condo rental.

While this condo is nice and in a great location, there were issues that will definitely cause me to not stay here again. Pros: Great location. Nice condo. Comfortable beds. Close to the elevator as well if you have someone that can't walk long distances. A reserved parking spot in the garage. Washer and dryer in the unit. Cons: Way too many codes to have to keep up with and that's if you get the right set of codes to start with. I received one set before 4pm and another set after. Furniture is stained. TV is hard to use. No blinds or curtains in the living room so people can see in the condo at night if they are on the beach. Ice maker did quit working and was leaking, but maintenance brought us a countertop ice maker. No secondary way of locking the main door. I was standing in the living room one evening and heard someone use the keypad and open the door. They closed it when I turned around and never saw who it was. I called Vacasa and they had no record of anyone coming to the condo at that time. I also informed them there was no other way to lock the door. They only apologized. We had to put furniture in front of the door every night before bed. I would not stay here again for that main reason. For what I paid to rent this condo, things could have been better.

Love the location

We enjoyed our stay. The kitchen could use some additional help. There were no cookie sheets so the oven could not be used. There was also no pitchers so we could not make any drinks. Could also use more drinking glasses.

This is a very nice unit with beautiful views of the gulf.
