Set Your Sails! Charming house in Port Saint Joe with pool and playground access

We loved having the pool and beach boardwalk right down from the house. We didn’t rent a golf cart but if you have a lot of stuff to carry or can’t walk far you’ll need to rent one. The garage and a few closets were not accessible and we purchased a few things for the kitchen that were not provided like a muffin pan, lighter, and a tea pitcher. The sprinklers wake you up early in the master because they hit the house. We had a great stay and enjoyed having hot dogs and smores around the fire pit and watching the fireworks from the beach.

The house was great, nice and clean. Close to pool and not to far of a walk to the beach. The pool pictured is not the pool closest to the house but it still has a great pool, was never able to find the playground/basketball court it's not near the house. There is no use of the garage either. There was also a golf cart in the listing when we booked, I went to look at pictures again and it wasn't there come to find out it wasn't available anymore, they did refund us for this.

In the past the vacation properties I've stayed in have small amounts amenities (dish soap, laundry detergent, coffee, cleaning products) and then obviously we purchase more for the duration of our stay. We arrived in the evening, tired from traveling, ready to go walk on the beach and go to bed. We noticed there was no dish soap, only hand soap, in the kitchen. We had made some food and wanted to clean the pans. So we made a trip to the store up the road. An hour later as we prepared to head to the beach, we found only 1 beach towel provided. For a reservation with 9 guests we'd hope to at least have 6-8 towels. We used bath towels the first night. That night we went to wash the towels so we'd have towels for bathing, but there was no laundry detergent. Again, usually a couple little pods or a travel size is provided for vacation homes. There was absolutely nothing. There was one bar of soap in one bathroom, but no soap in the second bathroom. We couldn't wipe the counters or clean any spills (kids) because there wasn't even a multi purpose cleaner or wipes or anything We also found that the refrigerator didn't dispense water. The ice maker worked but for some reason it didn't give water. We tried to drink the sink water but it was very treated/chemical-tasting. We made another trip to the store for drinking water. I let the staff know about the beach towels, drinking water, and that we were missing a blanket (there is a trundle bed and we were provided sheets for it but no blanket). The next day we came back to some beach towels, but no additional information about the bedding or water situation. I much prefer a personal host that I can contact. Otherwise, clean, great location. I highly recommend getting some travel size amenities so guests can clean, and have the place properly stocked - linens and bedding for every bed, maybe even some extra in case someone sleeps on the couch? Travel size toiletries/detergents/etc make a big difference!

Loved the proximity to the beach.

We needed a place to stay while we evacuated for Hurricane Milton. The home and community was beautiful. The area is like no other. We would love to come back and stay again.
