What's nearby: The white sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico are just a short walk across the Surfside Resort's sky bridge. Enjoy dining at the resort's restaurant, The Royal Palm Grille, and sit and watch the sunset. You'll also be only one mile west of the Silver Sands Premium Outlets, three miles east of the Emerald Bay Golf Club, and four miles east of Destin Commons. Things to know: This studio can be rented together with the studio next door as Surfside Resort 2-L8/L8A Free WiFi Kitchenette with a mini-fridge, stovetop, microwave, and coffee maker Construction notice: Surfside Resort will be undergoing construction from 11/9/20 - 2/28/2021. There will be special parking and entry rules in effect during this time. Please call the building front desk directly prior to arrival for parking and entry instructions. Location is very good, parking available and guest service very good. Had little issues with AC and shower that will be addressed. Good support from Vacasa. Will be back

I'm only 5 feet tall. The bed was the tallest I've ever tried to get on! I really really struggled. The only furniture in the room was a table with two tall bar stools and a balcony with two tall chairs...all a problem for a shrimp! Not the facility fault but just informing other shrimps that this might not be the best rental. I loved the huge beautiful shower with instant hot water. We were happy that the unit (L8) came with two beach chairs and an umbrella. The check in clerk said the chair boy didn't pick up and put the chairs away until 8-9 pm. Wrong! After putting our things away we walked to the very convenient cross over to the beach. Actually getting down to the beach involves lots and lots of stairs. So down we went to discover there were no chairs because the chair boy puts them away at 5:00. Do with a 4pm checkin there is no comfortable way to hang out at the beach unless you want to take your own chairs up and down all those stairs. So back to our room for the evening where there were no chairs for reading and no light over the table for card playing. We tried closing the nice black out curtains since the tennis courts were right outside with lights on. The curtains need repair because both ends at the top are broken and hang open letting in the light. We tried taping them but they are very heavy and the tape wouldn't hold. The next day we were told the pool would be closed all day and that the exterminator would be coming into the rooms. Sheesh...what else could go wrong. We decided not to spend another miserable night and checked out a day early. This is trufully the first negative review I've ever left even though we've encountered issues before but nothing like this.
