We loves the convenience of the close restaurants and the beach shuttle service.
This place is a perfect hidden gem where you are in the middle of the action while also having guest only benefits like the hidden pool, gym, and garden area on the 3rd floor! You wouldn’t think you was on the 3rd floor with the layout and amazing size of everything, you’ll love it so much you’d wish you lived there! The village also has great walking paths that go all over the village and to the marina which has bike/e-bike rentals, a small beach, and a restaurant!
We love the spot and the activities and food portions are great. Elevate was broken and room wasn’t exactly clean but we enjoyed our stay. Signage to find pool needs improvement.
We were on the 4th floor with no elevator for 2 days. There is only one elevator in the building. We had to eat out more than planned for and having to carry luggage, food and cases of water up to the room up four flights of stairs, when my husband had back surgery twice, and I have bulging discs in my back was actually horrible. There was no body wash in the room. We had to go out to buy body wash, coffee, sugar, and cream for the room as there were none there. These were more expenses that we had not planned on, and again had to carry them all up 4 flights of stairs. The place is very large and we were not provided with any directions to the room, pool area, etc. There is no one working in the lobby ever. We had to ask security guard or valet person for information. The good thing about the room was the air conditioning was nice and cool, and the pool area was very enjoyable. Fireworks display was nice, which happens once weekly. The village was very active and enjoyable as well. Would we stay here again...no, very unlikely.
We stayed here during our vacation to the Village of Baytowne Wharf, and the location truly couldn’t be better. Being right in the heart of the village meant we were able to walk to restaurants, shops, and events without ever getting back in the car. The Tuesday night fireworks were a big bonus — we were able to watch them right from our room. That said, there were a few things that made our stay less comfortable. The unit could use some improvements. The AC unit was extremely loud, making it hard to fall asleep. The smoke detector light kept blinking all night, which also made sleep difficult. There were no real blankets provided — just very thin coverings — and only two very flat pillows per bed. The bathroom sink backed up constantly, which made it hard for our family of four to use the bathroom in the morning. The TV screen had two bright spots, making it hard to watch. We didn’t use the TV much, so this wasn’t a big issue for us. However, the beds were very uncomfortable and made creaking noises any time someone moved. If you have back problems or are a light sleeper, this might be a serious issue. A small suggestion: keeping a broom in the unit would be helpful so guests can clean up sand that inevitably comes in after a beach day. Overall, the location and pool were excellent, and if those are your top priorities, this place may still be a good fit. However, if sleep quality and comfort are important to you, you may want to consider these factors before booking.
