Sterling Sands Gulf-Front Condo, Pool & Beach

This was our third stay at Sterling Sands and our first in Unit 702. Though a slightly higher rental rate, the accommodations are definitely 5* and the inclusion of beach chairs and an umbrella was a new bonus for us. In all, it was definitely worth the difference in price. We found the unit extremely clean and well-maintained. The location (just one unit from the end of the property) made our patio quiet and relaxing, with unobstructed views of the beach and Destin's gorgeous ocean! Though we had a few glitches with door codes, a faulty dryer and a TV that didn't have access to the cable box, the staff response was quick and efficient and maintenance was as well. I can't recommend Unit 702 enough, but please don't book "our week," as we'll definitely be back soon!

This condo is 5*! Beautifully decorated, kitchen gorgeous and fully stocked with everything and anything you could possibly need. Beach chairs and umbrella included! We will definitely be back.

I’ve been to many condos but this one tops every single one! The view, well stocked kitchen, pretty decor, comfortable furniture(beds,couches), fully stocked closet with EVERY BEACH ITEM you could want! My crew will be back!

And what a beautiful place! We stayed here before and every time is more and more inviting. The location is perfect and the condo is impecably clean and decorated! We always enjoy the stay and appreciate all the amenities.

As much as I dislike leaving bad reviews I have to remind myself that honesty is the only way to go. The first day was terrible, I actually cried shortly after arriving. Our room code that we were given didn’t work to start things off. After calling the 1800 number that was provided a new code was given for us to enter the room. We were told our pool/parking passes would be in the room and they weren’t. So I walked down to the front desk and just stood around looking for assistance and no one could be found (even during office hours). I went back up to the room and proceeded to call the 1800 number again and was told that I would have to retrieve my pool bracelets and parking passes in the morning and she gave me a temporary pool code to get in. My son got his swimming stuff on and we walked down to the pool where a worker was sitting by the pool gate. He asked us where our bracelets were and I tried to take the time to explain to him what had happened and he just stared at me like I was speaking a foreign language. So I went to type the temporary code in that the lady provided for me over the phone and he didn’t assist me at all. I asked him how many numbers was the code and he said 4… the lady I spoke with only gave me a 3 digit code. He then asked me what number did I type in so I told him and his response was “well that’s not it!” Very rudely. So I looked at my son and told him sorry you can’t swim tonight we will have to just wait until in the morning when we get our pool bracelets. As we began to walk off the man mumbled something under his breath. Everything that is posted says the pool closes at 11 and it really closed at 10 so might want to update that. We got stuck out on the pier for 10 minutes because the buttons on the gate were sticking and not allowing us to type in the code. Finally another family was coming out and let us in. The oven took forever to preheat. Tv remotes weren’t working properly. Most of the buttons weren’t working on all 3 tvs. I’m not sure how the umbrella thing works there… I’ve been to ft Walton beach every year since I was a child and it was first come first serve. We were in the 3rd row for our entire stay which really sucked because there were so many umbrellas in the front row that were reserved but no one ever used them. So we didn’t really get to enjoy the view of the beach which is what we wanted to see while we were there. The elevators got stuck on the 5th floor multiple times during our stay and it was an inconvenience considering we were on the 7th floor and having to take the stairs down. Or walk to the other elevator and wait because it was the only one working decently. Overall, I’m pretty disappointed with our stay at Destin and hope that whoever chooses to vacate there doesn’t have the same experience that we did.
