5th-floor condo with Gulf views, heated pool, gym, BBQ area, & private balcony

Condo had a nice layout and beautiful view of the water.

Great location, well equipped home, and friendly staff

When we arrived, the refrigerator did not work at all. We were given a tiny loaner fridge, similar to something you would find in a college dorm room, which was completely inadequate for a family. The management company repeatedly told us that a new fridge was on the way, but the delivery kept getting pushed back. When the replacement finally arrived on Tuesday, we still couldn’t use it for another 24 hours while it cooled. That meant almost half of our stay was without a functioning refrigerator. Other maintenance issues made things even worse. The ceiling fans in both the living room and the master bedroom did not work properly, which made it uncomfortable. On the very first night, the smoke detector kept beeping. I submitted a work order with Vacasa, but no one ever came to fix it. I eventually had to go out, buy a battery myself, and replace it just to get some peace. The outdoor space was basically unusable because the balcony furniture was so rusted that you couldn’t even sit on it. Inside, the mattress in the master bedroom didn’t fit the bed frame properly—it was too small for the box springs, which made it very uncomfortable. The washer never completed the spin cycle, and the dryer ruined several items of clothing by leaving black marks and damaging swim trunks. Until issues are fixed and new furniture is purchased I would not recommend this condo.

I loved the location, decor, and fully stocked kitchen with accessories/appliances. I am was not at all pleased that my concern regarding safety and security was never addressed. I stated my concern about the living room and bedroom patio door locks being broken on multiple occasions and to no avail, it was never addressed. This is disappointing and conveys a message that my values of comfort, safety, and security were unimportant to Vacasa and the owners of this condo. Additionally, the patio furniture desperately needs to be replaced and is uninviting. It is horribly rusted and dingy. It in no way matches the comfortable, clean, modern decor of the condo. Lastly, the washing machine needs to be repaired or replaced as the detergent dispenser is broken. I really wanted to love this condo as my family and I visit Destin Sterling properties once or twice a year and this condo looks and feels nice overall, but the lack of follow through and follow-up has left me feeling rather disenchanted.

We’ve stayed at Sterling Shores numerous times and love it here. This condo however, has been our least favorite stay. It does provide good space, a beautiful and large fridge and kitchen sink, comfortable beds and gorgeous master shower… but outside of those specific things, we were unfortunately not impressed. Outside of too many complaints I left with Vacasa, the main concern was the balcony. The furniture isn’t great at all and my husband had to swiffer scrub the floor out there because it was so filthy. Over all, with a good amount of new furniture and freshly painted walls, this condo would be significantly better.

This is a very nice unit with comfy beds. We appreciated the beach umbrellas in the closet. Would really recommend replacing the patio table so we could've eaten outside but it was so rusty. Also the refrigerator was quite noisy although it seems to function well. And none of the dinner plates are micro-safe. We always enjoy Destin and have always stayed at Sterling Shores.
