Beach-view penthouse condo with stunning water views, on-site pool & hot tub

We’ve stayed at many vacasa properties with similar ratings, price points, and location, and this was the least impressive. We were looking for a one stop shop that was convenient for old and young to navigate to the beach area, and this was not it. There is a private beach, but it’s very small, and the umbrella and chair set ups are stacked on top of each other 7 rows deep with one access aisle to the water down the center. If you want to bring your own set up, you are limited as to what you can have and it has to be all the way behind the paid ($52/day when we were there) set ups, where you can’t even see the water. It is a short walk from the Terrace building, which is entirely separate from the Pelican resort, but not in a convenient way. Condo itself was decent, but the master bed skirt and mattress cover were filthy upon arrival, and the Terrace building feels pretty worn and dated. Overall felt like a medium range chain hotel room.

I stayed in early February - so a bit off season. Really glad I did because we were able to avoid the crowds and enjoy the area. The home was very clean and inviting. The balcony had a great view with amazing sunsets. I really appreciated that it was a quiet and relaxing place. There were plenty of food and shopping choices that were nearby and the overall location made it convenient to visit the beach towns on the A30. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

The location is perfect. Lots of stores, shops, restaurants nearby. Beautiful view of the beach. The condo has everything you need to enjoy your vacation time. really enjoyed the pool and the workout room. Lots of fun things to do in this perfect area of Destin. This condo was one of the best places I’ve stayed in all of my travels.

This place was beautiful. I would have liked designated towels for beach/ pool but other than that it was great.

We loved our stay at 1602 Terrance at Pelican Beach. Everything was as you see in the pictures. After staying in other units at The Terrance and at other Destin properties over the past few years, the balcony and views here are my favorite. The condo was clean and beds were very comfortable. I do wish we knew the coffee pot type...the pictures show a dual type pot,, so we brought coffee and filters, but when we got there, it was a single serve Keurig. Our only real issue was with laundry, the washer had only very hot water. We reported the problem but, unfortunately, this was not resolved during our stay. Otherwise, this would have been 5 stars. Hopefully, it was fixed so future renters do not have the same experience.
