8th-floor condo with balcony, ocean view, W&D, pools & hot tub

Our family had an amazing stay at Pelican Beach #818! Awesome views every morning, a convenient location, and amenities were as stated. Cafe and tiki bar were very good and friendly staff. We’ll definitely be back!

The location was perfect. The kids loved the waterpark across the street. There were 3 pools to choose from. The walk to the beach led us through a cafe where we could get breakfast and lunch.

Nice clean facility

Messaged vacasa if there was a place to check our bags as we were early. The response I received: “In the resort, we do not have the service at the moment. I am sharing with you a link where you can check any option near the reservation.” With a link to find a 3rd-party offsite storage rental space! I told the rep that didn’t sound right they gave me the resorts phone number and told me to call. They refused to give me their name or ID number. Found out from the resort directly they don’t have bell hop but you are welcome to leave bags near check-in desk where there’s staff there at all times and cameras (no charge). Door code didn’t work. I called and they gave me another. I was concerned I may be using the code from the previous renter. After 4PM the first code thy gave me worked. The unit door striker was not attached to the door jam, missing screws. I contacted vacasa to repair. No deadbolt (ad states there is). Door should be replaced, there’s daylight thru the side and bottom. Stucco and door is eroded. There’s a horrible chemical-like odor as in the kitchen/dinning/den. Tried getting some airflow through the unit, it didn’t improve. We moved our stuff into the master bedroom and kept the door shut for the trip. Spoke with Vacasa; said they would have someone check it out. No one ever showed up throughout our stay. In the closet where the AC unit is the filter was absolutely filthy, looks like it hadn’t been changed in years. All a/c vent/duct work is filthy, visable dust in the vents. The ceiling fans in the bathroom were also full of dust. In addition to chemical smell in the main area the air quality in this home was poor. Toilet seat in main bath definitely need to be replaced, wooden and stained beyond cleaning. Dishes and cups in the cabinet not cleaned thoroughly, food particles and stained. Dishwasher smells gross, filter definitely needs to be cleaned. Keurig says de-scale; needs to be cleaned with vinegar. Hairdryer in the main bathroom does not work, hairdryer in the master bathroom is missing the back protective guard which can cause your hair to get suctioned up and burn. At least the beds were comfortable. The unit had few necessities. There’s no beach towels. We received 4 regular bath towels for our five day stay. 7 pillows on all the beds combined. The resort itself is lovely, walk to the beach was only 2 minutes from the room. We were hoping to love this unit and come back with our family’s but due to the air quality we will not return to this unit. I can’t say I have any desire to use Vacasa in the future. In my opinion the little amount of money we saved by renting through them was not worth the sacrifice. If we had rented through the resort they have higher standards for maintenance and repairs for whatever is causing that horrible odor, and if there was a problem with a unit they could’ve switched us to a different unit.

Great view and perfect location. Our family had a wonderful time and will book this condo for future vacations.

Loved the location & private beach access. 3 pools to choose from, great for our family of 5. We will definitely be back again!
