Crystal Beach Subdivision - Southern Comfort

We rented this house last minute. Was a little nervous with the reviews. But I’ll tell you the house is a little older. Tv hasn’t been updated. But it still plays cartoons for the kids at night. The house is in great shape. The pool was amazing. I come to beach for the beach. The house is super clean and great for staying. We will be coming back. Don’t be afraid to rent this one.

We were greeted with a cockroach immediately upon arrival. It was inside the front door and alive and moving. It didnt bother me that much considering this isnt uncommon for someone like me who travels alot and uses these types of services often. I did not see another throughout my 4 day stay even tho after that initial sight I looked in every corner in every room. No issues. Pool wasnt completely clean, I had to skim the pool before use and there were alcohol cans that Im not sure would not have been missed if they had really cleaned outside. Otherwise the house was nice and I would stay again.

Nice location, hot water, fenced in back yard, and open and airy. Issues with cable TV, front key pad quit working,, heated pool only heated for 1 day (although paid for 4), and side door was left open, unsecured, and ajar when we got there.

We loved the location of the home, the pool, the yard and the neighborhood. - the good.. Our stay was great! The house itself…. Overall 2.5-3 stars. When we arrived, it appeared that the cleaners got distracted and just left in the middle of what they were doing. By the front door was trash, a mop and the dust towel was in the red chair by the window. There was a sponge and a half used jar of dish detergent from the welcome kit in the sink. Then we noticed a clean sheet set laying on the couch like someone used it as a pillow for a nap. So after seeing all of this, we decided we could not trust that anything had been cleaned so we checked the sheets on the bed that we planned on using, cleaned all the bathrooms and showers and tubs. Wiped down the table and counters in the kitchen then we unpacked. The house is in need of some maintenance and it doesn’t need to be from the person currently doing shotty work. The rear toilet had to be plunged after every use. It really needs a plumber to look at it. And the beds were hard as a rock! The absolute worst sleep I ever had from staying away from home. The best mattress in the house was the day bed. The bad!! Now that is out of the way. We have stayed here two other times over the past ten years. We aren’t angry, just underwhelmed. Thanks for opening your home to us.

About 10min walk from public beach. Pool/house was clean. House is slightly older but everything works and didn’t deter from the amenities.

This was the perfect home for a girls trip, public beach access easily walkable and loved the wagon provided by property! Loved that there were restaurants walkable, pool was fantastic to cool off and very quiet nice family area! Fridge worked nicely (I find many rentals dont cool very quickly) and AC worked wonderfully! Would highly recommend property especially for the price point for the area, it is truly a gem!
