Dauphin Island living is best enjoyed at Driftwood Cottage. Lined by trees and backed up by the dune, this peaceful landing pad is close to the island's beaches, restaurants, golf courses, and parks. When you aren't walking the sandy shoreline of Bienville Beach, simply sit and soak up the radiant weather from the balcony. Inside, the sun continues to flood in naturally. The living room's soft sofa and smart TV lend themselves to pleasant streaming sessions, whereas the updated kitchen makes cooking a breeze with its stainless steel appliances and ample meal prep space. Coastal mementos and cool air adorn each of the bedrooms, ensuring a restful night's sleep each evening. A private washer/dryer and internet access tie together the stellar amenities. My positive feedback about this house is that it was very clean. My negatives are that it was hot, since the sand dune is right behind the house, there is no breeze. The house also only had 1 small ceramic baking dish, so if you're planning to cook at the beach bring your own casserole dish or baking sheet if you need it. I also wish there was more seating inside for eating. The picnic table outside is nice, but it is hot and lots of bugs. The couch was small and uncomfortable and don't get me started on the mattresses. I don't even think they had a shape to them like a normal mattress. We also had the fire alarm go off at 4:15AM for no reason (there was no fire) but the Avari staff was very kind to come by the next morning and change the battery. We appreciate the promptness and kindness of the Avari staff. Overall - if you don't mind a small sofa where the wooden boards sink into your legs and uncomfortable mattresses and nothing to bake on and no scissors, it is a clean place to stay and the staff was quick to respond.

Location to the beach was too far. House is nice and clean and comfortable. No privacy in the house. Wife got stung by a hornet on the bottom of her foot. There were 2 large hornets nest under the back deck

The cottage was the perfect location for everything we were doing on the island. It was plenty of room for our family of 4. The kitchen was fully stocked for cooking. I’d highly recommend and stay again!
