Beautiful beach house with WiFi, Gulf view, central AC, washer,dryer - dogs OK

Great location

The house and beach area were great and I would book again; but know that as others have said in reviews nothing is ever addressed to make improvements to the home even though Vacasa says they will talk to the owner. All small thigs that overall did not effect our stay but I've stayed at other Vacasa properties on Dauphin Island and they had better care. Biggest issues were that the couch covers were filthy and 1 cover had a corner shredded - we laid blankets over so we didn't have to sit directly on them. Also no cutting board; which is a basic kitchen item to be expected. Minor things were kitchen towels were put away damp so had to wash before we could use them, patches in bathrooms never painted after repair, no gate on deck (have to rig it with a baby gate that doesn't fill the opening), no side tables to sit drinks on while on porch using chairs, and the handle on the grill was broken along with a leg that made it wobble (not something you want with a item containing fire).

Location to beaches and size of home

Upon arrival, we discovered there had been a water leak. There were soft spots on the floor between the kitchen counter with sink and the refrigerator. Also another soft spot on the floor entering the laundry room. The soft spots were from the water leak. We contacted Vacasa to complain and submitted images. They had someone locally managing property in the area contact us who stated yes there was a water leak, but it’s not a problem. This individual told us the house is structurally sound. I told him there are soft spots in the floor and I expected someone to contact me about that. This same individual was not responsible for our location and said he would have someone contact us. I never received another phone call. There was a box of additional LVP flooring in the laundry room and one box in a closet. We had to place two planks covering the spot spot in the kitchen and cardboard over the spot entering the laundry room to ensure no one’s leg went through the soft spots in the floor. Someone from Vacasa could have at least offered late check out at no cost. The very least that could’ve been done is someone informing us before we arrived.

Really great location. Very friendly neighbors. Bayside beach out back is wonderful and not a far walk to get to gulf side beach. Management was very responsive when we needed to alert them of an issue. Would happily stay there again!

This home is situated on the bayside of Dauphin Island. Walking distance to the water. Beautiful views. Accommodated our party of 7 nicely.
