Newly remodeled bay view home with high-speed WiFi, central AC, and gas grill

Greetings to all, We were first time visitors to Dauphin Island, staying for a week; November 2 through the 7th. We couldn’t be happier choosing this house. We would like to point out several important factors. * Concerns expressed in earlier reviews about the condition of the home, inside and out, were addressed, I.e. new decking, painting, supplies and some interior remodeling. * The house was extremely clean. No issues at all. * The communication with the staff was excellent from the start. * We would highly recommend Vacasa for booking a trip to the Island. * Our entire stay earned a 5 star rating. We had a great stay at this home. Very clean and guest services were accommodating when we discovered there was no coffee pot for the coffee maker. Much appreciated! Morning coffee on the front porch deck with views of the sunrise or a quick walk to the beach for beautiful sunsets. Very convenient for everything... Bike riding, birding, walking on the beach. We love the southern charm.

Loved sitting on the patio with great views of the bay. Conveniently located close to the beach. House was very comfortable and looked like the pictures. Perfect getaway.

PROS The home is spacious and laid out well with a pantry and large frig with ice maker and big capacity washer and dryer. The neighborhood is good. It was great to have a grill. It was VERY nice to receive an offer for free early check-in. The master bed was comfortable. The view of the sound from the back deck was the fav feature...nice dining set out there. Chair cushions provided in a second BR closet. Except for everything in every kitchen cabinet coated in a white powder, the place was very clean. Provided a small starter pack of sponge, dish soaps, and one laundry pod. Can chat with a responsive Vacasa rep in Oregon via text. CONS No internet multiple days and we were dependent on it for work. Both times we were told someone was on the way out to help, no one ever showed up and no one followed up (even when being told this by local Vacasa rep on phone). No end tables and only one bedside lamp in BR and 2nd BR. We moved bar stools to function as end tables and brought extra lamps from living room. Only a Kcup maker which is hard for several wanting a.m. coffee at same time. Have to walk through neighboring properties for access to the sound beach and felt like we just got lucky the next door neighbors weren't there during our week. Our #1 reason for picking this house was to use that beach. One boogie board was ONLY beach item provided - no chairs, other toys/rec stuff, not even two towels per person so one could get sandy and still shower when coming in from beach. No indoor rec stuff for our rainy days like puzzles, cards, games. Not one storage container or Pyrex or casserole dish or anything with a lid - definitely bring foil and saran wrap. No salt/pepper shakers or other kitchen basics like chip clips. No cutting board or sharp knives. Food prep was rough. Like the brownie batter had to be mixed in a large glass punch bowl and then washed so the bagged salad could be mixed because it was the only bowl of any kind. Laundry light switch needs to be labeled that if the other switch on it doesn't stay UP, none of the other bathroom light switches work. Got up to go to bathroom during night one and needed phone flashlight thinking all bulbs were burnt out. Dishwasher is not mounted and dangerously plunges forward when opened. Watch your feet. Vacasa acknowledged that report. No indoor doormats for wiping/drying feet on at either door and only a couple of hand towels provided, so had to use bath towels for that.

Layout, perfect for a young family. Location, perfect local to the beach for the price. Washer didn't work correctly, dishwasher didn't work and beeped the whole time, and internet was spotty (glitch during tv). Like a previous person said, house needs tlc. Still gets 4 stars due to layout and location.

The house was clean and roomy. We enjoyed our stay.
