There are some cosmetic updating that needs to be done, but overall it was clean and nice. Plenty of room for 2-4 people. The ceilings were a little low, and there was some water damage and paint needed in the main bathroom. Also, there were no pans....just pots. Overall, it was a clean, nice place!
We recently stayed at this condo and unfortunately our experience did not meet expectations. While the location is convenient, several aspects of the unit made our stay uncomfortable. • We noticed that some of the bedroom pillows were stained, and there was a strong pet-like odor coming from the carpets. We also saw chew marks on some of the furniture, which made us concerned that the carpets and furnishings might not have been deeply cleaned in some time. • The mattress in the primary bedroom felt extremely firm, and both of us woke up with sore backs each morning, despite being generally young and healthy. • The wallpaper was peeling in certain areas, and the bedrooms became quite humid without any fans provided to improve airflow. • The light switches didn’t seem to operate the lamps, which was inconvenient • Every time we used the oven, even just preheating it, the smoke alarm sounded. The provided instructions suggested opening the back door and turning on a ceiling fan, but the screen door was in poor condition with ripped mesh, allowing flies to enter, likely because the unit is near a dumpster. • We also found that water pressure throughout the unit was quite low. Overall, while the condo has potential, in our opinion it would benefit from more thorough cleaning, regular maintenance, and some basic upgrades to improve guest comfort. We hope this feedback is helpful both for future guests and the property management team.
We have stayed at the Gulf Shores Plantation for over a decade. Love the location and Plantation amenities. Crowds were extremely light and weather was gorgeous. With off-season crowds, we enjoyed much peace and quiet at the condo. The WI-FI worked well, and cable TV was provided. You can see the gulf pretty good from the balcony but not really hear the waves. Those are the positives. The condo itself was a disappointment. Much cosmetic maintenance needs to be performed. Wallpaper is peeling off substantially in one bathroom. The kitchen cabinets are starting to bubble because of humidity. The balcony screen is nearly ripped off and flaps in the wind. So it is no deterrent to flying insects especially at night when they are attracted by the interior lights. When we arrived, we found many bulbs blown throughout the condo and a broken living room lamp. We called Vacasa and they sent maintenance the next day to replace. Televisions are in the living room and both bedrooms, but they are pretty small. The kitchen cabinets are loaded with dishes, cups, and utensils, but the condo has such limited cabinet space that there is literally no room to stock groceries or store anything else we brought. You have to just leave them out wherever you can find a space. There is a direct wired fire alarm right above the kitchen bar, and every time we cooked anything, the alarm went off. After two days, I disconnected it and laid it on an end table. Water pressure is also iffy. When the toilets flush, water from the faucets become a trickle. Showering more than one at a time is very problematic. Not revealed on any rental advertisement is the fact that the balcony sits directly above three dumpsters. Not a pleasant sight or odor for that matter. Had I known this, I would have chosen something else. The absolute worst part are the beds. If you plan on sleeping without pain, go spend the night in your automobile. We tried the queen bed in the master bedroom. Worst I’ve ever slept on. We tried the twin beds in the other bedroom. Just as bad. And we slept on the pull out sofa bed. Horrible also with a metal frame running across the small of the back. Each of these should be carried out and placed in those three dumpsters. Now, before you think we are exaggerating any of this, there is a guest book in the living room that the owner invites guests to leave a review of their stay. Since early 2024 all of these issues are noted by every guest that used this condo for accommodations, and with this information, the owner has done nothing to fix. They list the beds over and over again. They list the fire alarm going off all the time. They list the poor water pressure. They list the lack of cabinet space due to how much is already stored in them. On and on. So the owners are not unaware. They just seem to be unconcerned.
