We rent on Thanksgiving every year and this is by far our best rental! The bedrooms and bed arrangement fit our large family perfectly. My daughters commented on how well stocked the kitchen was and we cooked the Thanksgiving meal with ease!
The sunsets were amazing! Highly recommend!
The home was very nice. Comfortable for our large family. The guys enjoyed fishing from the dock. The view was beautiful. The ice maker and washing machine were not working and apparently had not, since it was unplugged when we arrived. A tech never showed up for repairs. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
We loved the house and Dauphin Island area! Clean and accommodating four bedrooms and three bathrooms layout worked great for our family of six adults and seven children ages 6 and under. Having TV’s in each bedroom was great. The open kitchen, dining, and living area was perfect for us. Do be aware to bring extra amenities for the kitchen if staying a few days. But having stores close by was so good. The open deck on top, and the bottom area we loved, especially being able to see the children playing on the wharf from a close distance. Everyone had a wonderful time! The only exception was the condition of the wharf itself. Children got splinters in their feet from the some dry rotted boards, boards coming loose, a few warped, some loose and sticking up from dock. Nails coming out of the boards and some nails needed nail removes from completely coming out of the and sticking up. The wharf is in need of attention and repairs and replacement boards. Condition of the wharf is not good. This was highly disappointing because it was an important part of our decision to rent the Sunset Bay, since we have our own boat. Going fishing and to the beach with our boat was an awesome time!
We love that it is on a quiet cove and we were able to put our kayaks in and let the kids paddle around. We love the back deck where we could watch the thunderstorms. We love the layout and space for our entire family. We love the quiet neighborhood and the proximity to the aquarium and ferry. We have stayed twice now and hope that it works out that we can stay again soon.
Do not come and expect to cook for your family. The kitchen is the worst I have ever stayed in, and we rent a beach house every year. What makes it affordable is being able to cook for my family.
